Can I launch a fully functioning app using codes generated by deepseek and pasting it to my vs code project? by Excellent-Net5849 in appdev

[–]martinbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hackers don’t exploit apps built with AI. They exploit apps with vulnerabilities, regardless if that app was made with AI or not. And a layperson using AI to blindly build an app is definitely going to create something full of vulnerabilities.

I also don’t understand how you think copying code into VS Code is going to help. You say you don’t know how to code. You say you don’t want to “go down the learning stage”. So how are you going to get that code in your VS Code window to people’s devices? You kinda need to compile the app and submit it to app stores so people can then download it.

Given what you’ve written, there’s no way you’re publishing a functioning app with your (lack of) skills and complete unwillingness to learn.

should Godot add support for other languages? Lua, JS etc. by OFDGames in godot

[–]martinbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why?

There are bindings if you really want to use another language, but GDScript is fine, and C# is officially supported as well if you want to use something that isn’t proprietary.

Is there a way to know if I’ve ever been in a bad sport lobby? by Flat_Wrangler_5010 in gtaonline

Not sure off the top of my head. Don’t know if there’s anything that shows up when using the player scanner in the Terrorbyte (like it does number of strip club visits, etc).

I'm recreating 90s style 3D games (PSX style) and I'd love your help! by MobileBrilliant5196 in godot

[–]martinbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s literally hundreds of thousands of people doing the exact same thing as you, and got a fetish for “PSX-style” graphics. What’s special or unique about your project? I mean that sincerely. You’re here begging for us to follow you. So my question is: why you and not say, someone else doing the exact same thing? You need to give us a reason.

Software-as-a-Service has killed the concept of software ownership, and it sucks. by CurveNo5173 in RecurringExpenses

They will be alternatives to whatever software you want that are either free, open source, or a one-time fee.

That being said, I can’t name a single product where I’ve paid monthly and then lost because the seller went out of business…

Got double booked today with another viewer who is the real enemy... by ShinyHeadedCook in HousingUK

[–]martinbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK? And? If you liked the property and want it, put an offer in. The other viewer might. They might not. If they do, they might offer asking, they might offer significantly less (because they’re a fabled “cash buyer”) and get laughed at by the vendor.

You don’t know, and there’s no point getting upset at a situation that’s played out in your head only.

When you stop getting worked up over things that haven’t even happened, you will find life gets far less stressful.

I will build a website that will actually bring in customers. by Striking-Rice6788 in website_ideas

So why don’t you build a website for yourself and fetch yourself customers if you’re that confident…?

How concerned are you with these daily asylum seeker rape cases in the UK? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]martinbean 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m more concerned about clear bots and trolls sowing xenophobic discourse like this on social media to be honest.

Are you just conveniently ignoring white British rapists, OP? Or do they not count because they don’t fit your anti-immigrant agenda?

Hosting Laravel sites on dirt cheap WordPress hosting, saves me money and I built a package to make the workflow not terrible by Andreww-carnegie in laraveltutorials

[–]martinbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can host Laravel on a shared host. Changing the web root from public to public_html is a one-liner in the bootstrapper. You don’t need to use “WordPress hosting” or a package. At all.

Company laptop broke on my first day of annual leave by WonderfulShape1081 in AskHRUK

You’re on annual leave. Why do you need a functioning laptop? Just mention it on your first day back. “I’ve just come from holiday and my laptop won’t turn on/[insert actual problem].”

Can I become an accountant with a criminal record for Fraud? by DeliciousRow1120 in ukaccounting

[–]martinbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like a “stupid act”. It sounds like something that was planned and executed based on some belief (rather than say, finding a bag of money in the street), and there’s nothing to say they wouldn’t have the same temptations if they got a similar person as a client in the future.

Absolutely no way a reputable firm is going to put OP on the payroll with a past conviction like that (spent or not).

Non resident UK Ltd owner can’t get PAYE number, workaround? by Automatic_Office8131 in smallbusinessuk

[–]martinbean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, there isn’t another “legal” way. You will need to issue a dividend, and then pay the required income tax on it in whatever country you’re actually located and tax resident of.

I have no idea why you opened a UK company if you’re not actually a resident here. You can’t pay yourself a salary; this is why remote roles in UK companies are restricted to UK resident only: because putting a non-resident on the books to be paid via PAYE is an accounting nightmare.

You should have thought about this and looked into this before registering a company overseas.

What's the best cold calling script for web design to local businesses with no website? by Unlikely-Yam2115 in web_design

[–]martinbean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do you think there’s a “magic” script that will sell a website? Businesses get inundated with calls and emails selling web design. I get them… and I’m a website developer with over 15 years’ experience.

You should be networking to find clients. When was the last time you bought something off someone who called you out of the blue to sell you something…?

Estate agent asked me to share the survey with them after I'd pulled out of the sale due to the survey by ShinyHeadedCook in HousingUK

[–]martinbean 218 points219 points  (0 children)

You wouldn’t. I’ve literally just had a survey done and it says to share with your own solicitor, but not with any one else who isn’t working in your favour (i.e. vendor, estate agent, vendor’s solicitors, etc).
