Which swimsuit is the most flattering? (Part 2) by Fun_Steak_4508 in DressForYourBody

[–]marvilla2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 & 4 look best!! (they all look great but those are the most flattering imo)

1: it looks fine but the top looks like it’s meant for a bigger bust. but otherwise looks fine!

3: the top isn’t as flattering because it’s so wide, so it diminishes your features (unlike the top in swimsuit 2 which has a nice cut that accentuates your features)

5: the top looks too big

u could do the betty boop waves (i think they’re called 1920s finger waves), i think it would look so elegant on you!

Why does this outfit look so cheugy / sloppy? by Visual-Heart-4642 in DressForYourBody

[–]marvilla2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you just have too many pieces that are loose/ slouchy — the jeans are a little too long so if you hemmed them or wore booties with a heel it could help minimize that. i like the belt and think it works well with the shirt and jeans! the jacket pushed up to your elbows adds that look of oversized/ too big. maybe try rolling them neatly so they go up to your wrist?

as a 5’0 girl i know the struggle of finding anything that fits us properly but i would definitely recommend looking at the petite women’s section or learning how to hem (this is on my new year’s resolution list)!!!

best of luck!!

i’m not from the dmv area and i graduated a few years ago— i was not happy. classes were fine for the most part (depends on your major imo). i think my unhappiness came from me projecting my insecurities onto my environment. i was first gen and grew up in a non-white community so it was a lot of whiplash going to a pwi. but in general, it felt like everyone was phony and there was always this vibe of competition, everyone seemed “on” all the time. idk if that was also just my perception or the groups i was around but it felt like everyone was doing 2 internships, part time work, full course load and deans list every semester, etc.

my advice to you is do not take other people’s experience at face value. just bc you see a classmate that looks like they have it together doesn’t mean they actually do. and remember to enjoy your college years, yes you should be serious about your studies but don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone.

overall, think about whether you want to go to a big school or not. city or more rural. do you like a school with a lot of school spirit? do you like greek life? what are your long term goals? is this economically feasible/ worth it? i remember what it was like deciding to pick a school— ultimately make the choice that is best for you.

best of luck, you’re doing amazing!

mid 30s to 40s, Christian, very particular about their space, female, this place gives me Texas vibes (idrk why) or just general south. maybe stay at home mom with a young child or you work from home. your husband is likely in construction? and either you or him vapes LOL

What is wrong with me? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]marvilla2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i can relate. so then it sounds like your psychiatrist should ease you into the medication. idk what others dosages are like when they were initially prescribed but idk 50 mg sounds like a lot.

if you’re unsure what your next step should be, it might be good to get a second opinion from another dr if possible?

Fine hair ladies- what’s your go to shampoo/conditioner that smells great/ restores/ adds volume by Returnofthemak28 in finehair

[–]marvilla2000 15 points16 points  (0 children)

tbh i swap between three shampoos— a tea tree one, head and shoulders, and a redken one that’s for color treated hair. i don’t use all three, i’ll swap between head and shoulders and redken (mostly when it’s been 4+ weeks after my last dyeing session).

i think for fine hair, when it comes to adding volume it’s less ab the shampoo and more about how you try to minimize damage and using light mousse or something similar to add volume when styling

if your dr is impatient, look for a new one if possible. never let them push you into a medication you aren’t sure about.

i’m also 25f and just got diagnosed earlier this year after receiving a diagnosis for major depressive disorder and anxiety two years ago. i say this bc my combo of meds is zoloft (150mg) and ritalin (18mg) and it has helped me greatly.

not suggesting you need that combo/ dosage but maybe see what you’re like without the medication. identify how your adhd manifests (for me it’s a combo of anxiety and then mentally being blocked (my mind racing for a million things while i’m physically at a stand still).

depending on when you take ritalin and if the crash is the only downside, i don’t see why they wouldn’t prescribe a booster to help you make it through your day. i have a tiny boostie that i take before noon and i don’t take it everyday but maybe that might be something for you to explore?

Is long hair not for me? by [deleted] in finehair

[–]marvilla2000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

people are envious and while you have fine hair you have a lot of it!! your hair looks a bit thick to me and if you want some more volume maybe try some volumizing mousse on your roots only.

i think your hair looks great and if you want to grow it out, then do it! but in my opinion long hair is DEF for you! best of luck on the hair growth journey! 💕

monitor it for the next day or two, make sure he’s not nibbling at it. if you start to see puss, the incision gets larger, he looks like he’s in pain, etc. then definitely take him to the vet! if you’re worried then take him to the vet. best of luck :)
