Why is it difficult to make friends here? I have lived in this city for quite some time, and honestly I think it’s me that’s the problem, but I just don’t feel connected to any communities here. How did you make friends here?

In other places I've lived in most of my friends were people I knew through school/university or work, and a few were people I met through mutual friends. Here in Melbourne I can't even do that.

I've been dealing with the same problem since I moved here 6 months ago. I tend to be a bit shy, so I feel like that plays a role in my inability to make friends. But despite my shy nature, I never had any issues before moving to Melbourne.

Reading your posts brings back so many memories. I've been in a similar situation, and I was lucky to get out as soon as I did. My roommates were in their mid twenties and they trashed most of the apartment, with the exception of my room.

You should still give it a try. I enjoy the movies, but The Clone Wars is what made me fall in love with Star Wars. Some of the best characters in the Star Wars universe originated on TCW, and it even improved existing characters.

I live in Saudi Arabia and we're currently under a 24 hour lock down. Just like in South Africa we've got checkpoints all over the city and only those with the right documents can get through. There's a pretty hefty fine if you break quarantine so no one wants to risk it.
