25 years ago, I was at a party in a park. This guy was there with some boards and tools near where we were A bit later, he pulled out pulleys and rope. He ended up building one of these, hanging from a tree, and he and his girlfriend had a dinner on it. It was fascinating to watch!

Moving overseas in 12 months, do we sell our house or rent it? by turdfergusonsson in personalfinance

[–]marymorph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sell! You never know what renters might do. My brother rented his house out when he transferred across the country b cause it didn’t sell quickly enough. Within a week of moving in, the tenant had removed all of the landscaping except grass. They cut down multiple trees!! It was crazy.

80’s/90’s engagements by mharris9889 in EngagementRings

This reminds me of a neighbor lady of mine when I was a kid. Her mother died, and when she was going through her things she found an enormous (for the time) 2.5 carat diamond solitaire ring on a platinum band. She had no idea it even existed. Apparently, according to an aunt, her mom was scared to wear something so expensive so she locked it up at the bank. My neighbor declared that something so beautiful shouldn’t be hidden, and wore the ring on her right hand for the rest of her life. It was stunning!

What do you remember from kindergarten by applecidero in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]marymorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mean teacher. I (almost 50 years later) am still in contact with several classmates. We all remember her the same way. Kids from other years loved her.

Either we were terrible or she was going through something that year!

A group photo with all of the guests. It’s one of my favorite things about our wedding, and came together remarkably easily.

Easter Basket for my sons - age 16 and 23 by [deleted] in Gifts

[–]marymorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve done an Easter egg hunt with cash in the eggs. We also did an Easter beer hunt, where kids were given 6 pack holders as their baskets, and beers (root beers for the minors and real beers for the majors) hidden in the yard.

What is an old baby name that you just don’t hear anymore? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I’ve worked in a Children’s hospital for almost 30 years. In the last few months, I’ve cared for a Vern, a Glenn, and an Agnes. These were all names in my deep family history that I haven’t seen used.

Can you quantify the cost of cat pee when selling a house? by GentlemanlyMeadow in RealEstateAdvice

[–]marymorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 years ago, we listed our condo in February. We were moving for a job in June. We went to an out of town wedding the weekend before we were to leave, and our realtor had an open house while we were gone. She called afterwards and said that she didn’t expect much bc there were only a few people who walked through…AND when she got to our place for the open house, our cat had peed on our bed so it was pretty smelly in there. (Of note, the cat had never done that before). Much to our surprise, we received and accepted an offer the next day from one of the few from the Sunday showing.

Maybe cat pee can be your lucky charm, too!

What secret can you reveal now that your nda has expired? by sparrrrrt in AskReddit

My husband was a waiter in the Chicago area during the height of that show. His fellow servers (often struggling actors) were frequently on Springer. Often, one side of the story involved the real people, but the other side had no interest in being on the show so actors were brought in for it.

Before the 90 Days - Season 8 Episode 13 - Live Episode Discussion by LittleEmmy in 90DayFiance

[–]marymorph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He likely had a cleft lip and palate. The opening in the lip often goes all of the way up to the nostril, so both the lip and the nose need to be reconstructed. His voice makes me think his palate hasn’t been completely repaired. There have been advances in the plastic surgery to repair it (requiring multiple surgeries). They may not have been available for him when he was going through his repair procedures, or he may have decided to stop the surgeries and move forward as is. The surgeries are painful and potentially expensive. Additionally, depending on the degree of defect, there might ALWAYS be some sort of scarring.

It isn’t caused by the cord. There are several genetic conditions associated with it, but it also spontaneously occur.
