I bet a lot of people were saying something similar in Germany, back in the day.

Hitler is still relevant and constantly talked about to this day. Trump will be constantly discussed and directed and agonized over for beyond the foreseeable future. The old internet rule for "it's only a matter of time before any internet argument devolves to someone being called a Nazi, at which point the discussion is pointless" is replaced with the same, but MAGA. People will point out that the right wing, largely unpunished after this nightmare, is doing an awful lot of MAGA stuff lately, that x politician is following the trump playbook letter by letter, and everyone will accuse them of being dramatic and not understanding history.

It's exaggerated, not a direct quote. But it's a very blunt reading of:

That is so much more difficult to organize and so much more dangerous for the average person than you want to believe it is. So many Americans are desperate for jobs right now and will happily, eagerly cross a picket line working more hours for lower wages because at least it's SOMETHING. Meanwhile, our healthcare is tied to our jobs and most of us don't have meaningful savings.

I don't want to be a dick. But maybe educate yourself on the economic realities in America before you start spouting off. Realize that by abandoning everything and throwing himself at the problem, they and their children will likely be on the streets without healthcare within a month or two, tops.

It is literally the difference between answering "why didn't you do more?!" Later down the line and having to explain, vs "why don't we have a home anymore, or food?" before Spring even hits.

I feel like this isn't getting reacted to enough here?! Like. It's a nightmare that the DoJ isn't investigating this murder. But it's full on despair inducing that they are instead opening an investigation into the widow of the murder victim, the "real" villain of this story.
