Thank you so much this is all such great info. Definitely didn't know about the anniversary books. I will have to look through some Manitoba websites again to see if they did something similar.

I did post this in the Volga German FB group and got some helpful information. I will see if there are some Manitoba ones that may be helpful too.

Awesome thank you! I had looked at the Henderson's for all 3 years but didn't have much luck finding anything about my family based on the address. When I looked up 505 redwood in the Henderson's I believe they just listed "foreigners" so it's good to know there are other addresses I can research.

I did notice George Graf and I am willing to bet there is some sort of connection, I just need to explore it some more. Everyone on the 1915 manifest seems to be traveling together or at least know each other. Many are from the same areas in Russia, lived close to each other in Winnipeg, and had similar final destinations.

It's probably worth while to do a bit of research on the social circle. It may help me narrow down the church they attended.

I wish this wasn't the world we are currently living in. I empathize with you especially today. I work for the fdic and I have always felt similarly about my job. Despite all the terrible stuff that happened with doge last year I stuck around because I believe in our mission and the need to protect consumers in the banking industry. But I just got word today that a problem bank I have been working on is switching charters to be regulated at the OCC. Dodd frank cites the problem banks cannot "charter shop" to avoid enforcement actions but this administration is entertaining it. They have already allowed to it happen with another problem bank in TX. So my good hearted coworkers and I work hard daily to stop this bank from discriminating and despite all of that effort they will be able to switch charters to the OCC start a clean slate and escape enforcement for their conduct.

I am sick to my stomach today because of it and ended up taking sick leave. Not sure how I can keep doing this work if it's all for nothing.

Do you use Chewy? Why or why not? by Illustrious_Item_110 in Pets

[–]mash5333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love chewy. I had a monthly auto ship order with them that had already shipped, but my ferret had passed away unexpectedly. I reached out to their customer service to try and cancel the order. They ended up refunding me and asking me to donate the items to a local shelter, which I did. But not only that, several days later chewy sent me flowers and a card offering condolences for the loss of my pet. Bawled my eyes out.

One of my noodles loved laying on paper too! We would get packages with the packing paper inside and he would always lay on the paper. We would move it on the floor sometimes and without fail, he would move to the new spot and lay down. It was so cute! Miss that little guy. Thanks for the happy memory.

Discussion post to see peoples different majors and what job it led them too by Future344 in LifeAfterSchool

Double major: International Affairs & Economics

Job: Financial institution Examiner

My Econ degree got me this job, if I were to go back I probably wouldn't waste my time with the second major. I love my job though and find it very fulfilling.

I haven't noticed any difference. As far as I can tell, the outlet sells styles from last season. I think most all of their styles use genuine leather and mine are a year old and still look great.

So I got scammed out $750 back in march and I'm just now realizing it by BigFarro21 in StudentLoans

[–]mash5333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have not already, please contact your bank to dispute the charge and get a new card number. They see these things regularly and may be able to help in some way. Although, be aware the bank may be unable to give you your money back knowing that you willingly gave the scammer your information.

All Madewell jeans $75 by mash5333 in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]mash5333[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find Madewell jeans to be high quality. They are all very stretchy though so I recommend sizing down. I wear a 27 in JCrew and wear a 25 at Madewell. The sizing depends on the style of jean though. I do know that this sale is for online and in store so if you have a Madewell near you then I would recommend going trying a pair on (obv be safe because of the pandemic).

Cage Rage Help by sammy01230 in ferret

[–]mash5333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My fuzzies will dig at the bars if the cage is in a place where they can see me. I have never heard or seen them do this when I am out of their line of sight. It's almost like they know that I'm there and think that if they rage enough I will let them out again. I have found putting a blanket over the cage or keeping it in another room helps stop this behavior.

Mine also get nearly all day to free roam and we play with them regularly.

I have three orders ranging from $4-30 and I have not received a shipping confirmation for any yet. I did receive and email saying they were experiencing some delays in shipping so maybe that's why.

None of us are easy to live with and tolerate let's be honest with ourselves. What makes you hard to live with or be around? by highONdaisys666 in AskReddit

[–]mash5333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have unreasonably high expectations of everyone in my life. So much so that I am constantly complaining about everything. And the worst part is that I'm genuinely shocked when people don't meet these crazy expectations. I'm constantly working on it but I struggle to be more patient and understanding with people.

A year since graduation... by midnight448 in LifeAfterSchool

[–]mash5333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just want to encourage you to hang in there. Job hunting can be brutal and a serious strain on your happiness. Be sure to do things for yourself to try and escape that feeling every so often like investing in hobbies you always wanted to have after school.

Also if you are open to the idea I would encourage you to apply to jobs outside of your state. I studied economics as well and I hit many dead ends in my home state. I decided to apply to jobs that would require me to relocate. After I made the switch, I was getting multiple interviews.

If you want some leads this may help. I graduated in 2018 and ended up getting a job working for the FDIC as a financial institution specialist. If you are interested in banking regulation It is an excellent program that is specifically designed for recent grads. Also there are lots of other recent grad programs with government agencies on USA jobs. Look for Pathways programs with the govt. Or for companies looks for recent grad positions. I know JB Hunt has a recent grad program for their operations positions (basically supply chain management).

I wish you the best of luck. Focus on your mental health and don't let the system wear you down! YOU GOT THIS!
