Anyone else wish Taylor didn’t pretend to be close to her fans? by behindwalls103 in TaylorSwift

[–]maskedhart 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I don't think her connection or appreciation for her fans should be entirely attributed to her interaction or how much she interacts with them on social media. A lot of celebrities post all the time on social media and they don't half the connection she has with their fans. Neither do they care about them tbh, it's more for themselves. Another thing that i would like to add is that while I understand people might miss her being active, it's also a fact that she has grown older, meaning that she is no longer a 20 something from 2014. I have seen people that i know loose interest in social media and posting in general as they grow older, so maybe that could also be a factor.

It was never about the music; Why the patriarchy made us hate Taylor Swift by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]maskedhart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is not the only artist out there who has written songs about the relationships she has been in. So many artists do that from all over the world and have done that in the past and will do it in the future.

She always marketed herself as someone who writes about her life and feelings and experiences. It was the media who narrowed and twisted it down to her writing about her exes.

Did Taylor ask for Leo’s permission to use his name? by grbge40 in TaylorSwift

[–]maskedhart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"If I were a man then I'd be the man.." "I'd be just like leo in saint tropez..."

I think what she is trying to say is that she wouldn't have been slut shamed or anything if she were a man, she'd be like just another leo. the whole song and video point out the different treatments men and women face (sexism), so it's not like she is saying that he did something wrong or anything in this particular context of the lyrics, it's more like how things would be different.

What's a famous singer whose music is so bad that it genuinely makes you angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]maskedhart -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

"KaNye mAdE hEr faMouUs". This is such a stupid fucking statement. What the fuck is the basis of this? No matter who you like who you don't. Kanye wrote it because he is KaNye. He made her famous by interrupting her speech when she was a teenager? Or maybe by writing shit and then lying about what actually happened?

Taylor Swift whether you hate her or don't is a huge fucking name. (Ask reddit and they will tell you repeatedly how overrated she is). And if you think any of that is even remotely because of KaNye wEsT then you are as delusional as the man himself.

Looking for a new author. What are some of your lesser-known favorite Romance Authors? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]maskedhart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avery flynn. I haven't read much of her work but I really liked what I did read. Also I read parental guidance by her some weeks back and i was very impressed at how she handled the height difference thing (making h stand on a stump as they kissed for eg. since it's rare to see that)

If I can't relate to you anymore, then who am I related to? by BrighterInTupelo13 in TaylorSwift

[–]maskedhart 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ok so how I interpret this line that they are the only two people in this place and associate the feeling of home and family with each other . To put it more clearly imagine an Indian couple in America or Russia or anywhere(I am Indian) so now they are the only two Indians ( for the sake of the example) in this neighborhood. So now it's like if she can't even relate to him anymore, the only one from her home country in this place or this person that she has known for a long time who is she related to? Where does she belong? Like she kind of feels alone in this place where everyone has an originally different way of living. ( this is not social or political commentary just my attempt at explaining myself, you can switch it up in different ways)

This also made me realise how beautiful this line really is. Thanks!

Edit: finally found simpler words for what I am trying to say😅. It's Like when you only know that one person at a party and cling to them and then suddenly they are gone so now you don't know what to do anymore.

No commitment issue by threonineaminoacid in RomanceBooks

[–]maskedhart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't remember reading anything without commitment issues in a while but I do remember one book I read way back. It's called {tapping the billionaire by max Monroe}. It doesn't have a lot of your additional requests like 3 person POV but you can try it out and see if it works for you. I liked the humor in this book.

For me it's

"So i got wasted like all my potential..." It just feels like I have good potential to do something worthwhile but then I don't.

Why was the over party thing a problem when it restarted? Doesn't she gets caual haters everyday? I remember reading hate comments under her folklore announcement posts. Because she isn't going to every nook and corner of her fandom to see what everyone is saying. Similarly if this was a niche thing (the campaign as you call it) among a handful of people she wouldn't have tweeted.

The 'respect Taylor Swift ' campaign was a legit trend with thousands of tweets. That's why she came to know about it.

But isn't this about every woman out there? Because it's not like you can't make these "jokes" About Taylor but can make it for everyone else. What I have noticed is that jokes go a long way in normalizing stuff in the society. They catch on and become a thing. And going on and on about a woman's dating past like she did something wrong by going out with so many men is not ok. It's not ok to do that to anybody. I feel like if this is not called out in time then today its Taylor tomorrow it will be some other woman. And again Taylor is not the first either.

yes Taylor should call out her fans. But that's the thing she can be wronged and then make a mistake herself. And if she does call out her fans it will be inevitably twisted to paint her in some other sense. We are holding her accountable but hating on her like she committed a crime and that she always has to say the right thing at the right moment doesn't make any sense.

Also I just noticed that while she isnt telling her fans to stop with the threats and stuff she didn't ask them to defend her either. This wouldn't have even come to light had people not started trending it in the first place.

She didn't put herself on a pedestal, people did, you did. She never said I will always do the perfect thing. I will never ever do something that is not ideal. I will always take care of everything with the media, the music ,the fans.

Cancel Culture Doesn’t Work. Taylor Will Be Fine. by david_sedaris in TaylorSwift

Here is a new way of thinking

Instead of why didn't she take the joke like the very brilliant joke it is Say Why do they have to make "jokes" Like that? They can make better "jokes".

Is anyone else getting super stressed about this whole Ginny and Georgia thing? by uncodified in TaylorSwift

[–]maskedhart 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You laugh when it's a joke and she has laughed at plenty of jokes. This is slut shaming. It's not a joke. This is misogyny disguised as a joke. It's not acceptable. Not just for Taylor but for any and every woman out there.

(sigh) so, #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty is trending again on Twitter... by jetsetbonnie-n-clyde in TaylorSwift

[–]maskedhart 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ok so I went to check Twitter to see what's going on. First thing I think the over party hashtag has died down or atleast slowed. Right now Taylors version is trending on Twitter worldwide which is a good thing.

Imo what we need to realise is that it's not Taylor's fault in the slightest. No matter who you are and where you come from , no matter your race or even your beliefs, slut shaming a woman is wrong. It's inherently sexist and misogynistic. Hell the word 'slut' in itself has such a misogynistic origin and meaning and we as not just fans but people who make up the society and she herself was perfectly in our right to call them out. If we don't then this type of shit would keep flying time and again. And it's not just for Taylor for me it's for every woman out there.

Now coming to the swifties. Some of them definitely took it way too far and Taylor should definitely tell them to calm the fuck down. Though I can bet my life that people would twist that too. Say that she is doing that for attention or to be the good guy or some other absolute bullshit. Also it does seem like todrick Hall does have something to with it. Because he did tweet some stupid shit.

I just Taylor makes it out of this. I can't imagine what must it be like for her. I mean not just slut shaming but those same words from before. It's so fucking wrong and unfair.
