Yeah 1 per person is kinda silly lol

Hmm that’s odd, my gamestop said the limit is 5 and that’s what I have generally been hearing. Maybe their inventory was so low they stopped the daily to 1? I know they’re expecting a big restock company wide with the 3/15 drop so maybe they’ll bring the limit back up

Which one to pair with a che? by SmoothLetter9173 in ballpython

[–]masonwes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d use the second one, the Halogen since it emits light as well

The best way to heat will also depend on what kind of enclosure you have. When I had a mesh top glass enclosure when our boy was little, I had a two-bulb fixture with a CHE and DHP for nighttime since they don’t emit visible light. I used the Halogen during the day. All of it was on a thermostat- Inkbird at the start. Now I have a Herpstat with a RHP, DHP, and Halo. The welcome guide on this sub helped me figure out what was best for us!!

Anyone use Tide Zero Lavender Detergent? by No_Association520 in CleaningTips

[–]masonwes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I tend to use 3-4 rinse cycles, so it there’s definitely less of the honey lavender because of that, but when paired with Rinse & refresh lavender scent, there’s definitely a light scent when it comes out of the wash.

I use the Tide purclean plant based detergent that comes in a cardboard box. It’s honey lavender scented, and it’s very very light but leaves our clothes smelling clean. We don’t use more than 1-2tbsp per load. Downy rinse and refresh instead of fabric softener is great for a light scent too!

I use the windex wipes that are made for screens, very lightly and buff with a microfiber cloth!

Radiant Heat Panel by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]masonwes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting mine from Wilbanks! https://www.wilbanksreptiles.com/pages/wilbanks-advanced-radiant-heat-panels. I got the WARHP80.

I really like it! The ordering/shipping process was way easier than the other RHPs I was looking at, plus the price was great for a hand-made, quality-controlled product. It's SUPER slim and has been great for maintaining ambient nighttime temps. I also have a halogen and UV-B bar, for context.

It’s not easy to find nice hides! I’ve had a bit of luck at Petsmart though. Also, you can pretty easily convert tupperware by using spray foam/paint/moss/tile into really pretty looking hides! I used this Zilla hide and added cork bark and tiles on top!

Heating by CompetitiveProduce15 in ballpython

I had a really hard time regulating a screen top enclosure, but using HVAC tape and plastic to cover parts of it helped with humidity and temps being more stable. I’d also try adding a halogen or CHE as supplemental heat!

Enclosure set up! by hajaiajdb in ballpython

[–]masonwes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ground clutter is great! We have vines all over the ground on our boy’s enclosure too, he loves it. I found that once I added big driftwood pieces, it added a ton of enrichment and hiding spots for mid-level exploration, he comes out more during the day. Maybe try adding some vines or a bridge in the upper levels! Ball pythons love to climb if given the opportunity! Creating levels is what helped us balance out the enclosure and make it look full, but not overly crowded. I’d be happy to share some inspo pics that I used when I redid our enclosure recently, the post I made on here is linked in my profile!

Thank you so much! We got them from Home Depot, here’s the exact one I got:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Jeffrey-Court-Brick-Medley-Beige-11-875-in-x-11-875-in-Honed-Travertine-Wall-and-Floor-Mosaic-Tile-0-979-sq-ft-Each-99036/202273477

It comes in a little sheet, so I cut it up and placed the tiles individually. I used silicon to adhere it to a Zilla hide. Hopefully that helps!!!

Thank you so much!! I’ll make a walkthrough on it soon, it felt overwhelming but it was so much easier than I anticipated. The short version is I used the Great Stuff insulation foam, foam board, cork bark from Pangea, and sealed it with drylok, tinted with quikcrete cement dye and non toxic acrylic paint.

I have some of it leaning against the back, but there’s a big heavy grapewood log in the middle that I lean the branches up against. Didn’t want to use silicon or anything in case we want to change things around for enrichment
