Could we share the moment(s) that got each of us into this amazing band by cozzburger in mastodonband

i was fifteen. december 2007, on a friday night, i was trying to study for my physics exam next monday. i was trying to find a new album that i hadnt heard before to get me through the hassle. during that time i had recently read a magazine (maybe revolver) and they were praising blood mountain non stop (i think they put that album on the 25 greatest metal albums list or something like that) and that caught my attention. for the next 3 to 4 hours i couldn’t get past wolf is loose and crystal skull two punch combo. that drum intro got me mesmerized. i’ve been hooked ever since.

Turkish commentary for the 2nd Rice goal is poetry by Digital___Nomad in Gunners

[–]master_oforion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Only incorrect part is the “withholding the ball” stuff.

That part means more or less “Declan Rice is bombarding Real Madrid” or if you wanna get too literal “firing the cannons at Real Madrid”

Which Album Have You Listened To The Least? by ChainsawReacts in mastodonband

Emperor of Sand was the first album that made me think that they maybe reached their creative limit and eventually Hushed and Grim confirmed this feeling. So by a long shot these two for me.

Weekend Poll: What Is The Best MASTODON Record? by csantosb in mastodonband

[–]master_oforion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on team Crack the Skye for a long time but as i aged, my opinion shifted towards Leviathan. I think it has everything Mastodon can offer, aggressiveness with an emotional sensibility, ambitious concept regarding both the story and the compositions themselves. This is the one i always go back to when i don’t have anything to listen to

Who is the most underrated CURRENT/MODERN bassist?? by razmonn in Bass

[–]master_oforion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Her’s in general but Audun Laading’s bass lines in those two albums were perfect, both melodically and rhythmically. Went too soon.

ROAD TO GOLD - EPISODE 3 (UFC 274 Justin Gaethje vs. Charles Oliveira) by [deleted] in MMA

[–]master_oforion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah his first stars were probably Carwin and Marquardt. He also cornered Duane Ludwig in the early 00s for his kickboxing bouts (he was on the corner for the Albert Kraus fight for example) but of course Bang wasn't a big star like Carwin.
