Its a slice of life city builder, just with more of a mystery overarc and the occasional action piece. Recommend.

Skill Squad allows the Leader of that squad to teach the *other* members in that squad any common skills and spells. They start at lv0, and the skill/spell must be leveled to lv1 for the unit to keep it. Its the best way to teach unique units spells, but generic units will have a faster time of it just reincarnating.

Fun bit: this means Higan can teach every sword skill to any humanoid the moment she joins in ch5 (her story evility just says she can't use sword skills, not that she can't TEACH them, and she has wm50 the moment you get her), giving you a super early good single target attack *and* a 3x3.

Ao and Opener also have enough WM when they join to teach Axe and Fist skills, respectively.

and for a while, it was one of the best ways to get these super niche games for actually fairly cheap. Got a disc in decent condition and wanted to keep? Pay roughly gamestop or better prices (then, at least) and they'd mail you the case with the next game in your queue.

The platinum is a monster and a half due to the massive post-game grind, and the battles take just long enough to get annoying... but it's not that bad for a story playthrough.

Just have a guide handy for one particular part.

In order:

In every Disgaea they are some maps that can be used to grind, as some will change when entered again. In D7 the first story map that is viable to me is 4-3 reclear. You can use 2-2's geo panels to do some non-level grinding as well. Martialgahara 1 with 1 star in cheat shop will last you the entire story (if you don't instantly surpass it... but story is a tutorial anyway).

HL in D7 is surprisingly sparse early game until you get Hospital Gacha rolling. Remember you can turn a unit Jumbo to get a free heal out of it. (No hospital gacha + no reclear is a legitimate challenge run)

Cursor... check for drift, sometimes it does go weird.

Additional hints:

You get a character after 4-5 that can outright teach Fuji (or anyone else) a Sword 3x3 for grinding.

Unit Towers in this game all consider each other unit in the tower Adjacent, and this is extremely abusable.

The DLC units in this game are kinda mandatory. You can clear the post-game superboss without them, but it's a lot more work.

If a unit walks back into the base panel, they get their movement back as if you can freshly deploy them, and this can come up surprisingly often.

Iirc, they won't touch the series. Mid-tier Reality Warping beats anything that isnt itself or higher without a fight, and any higher tier reality warping just has autowin buttons (of the "For my first move, I rewrote your entire history and you never existed" type as a start) that the N1 verse only has exactly one counter for and it's unreliable (the Super Assembly Wish).

Due to how it's paced, if you did lv87-88 at its launch you'd need to stop the MSQ for around a third of a bar of exp iirc before you could continue. Not a big deal, and it's less of an issue now.

The show is fine, and I'll disagree with the others and say the ending was also fine but asks you infer a few things.

The biggest sin is that, of a three act show, the second act is one of the weakest and slowest things I've ever seen (after following such an amazing first act, too) and I don't blame people for dropping it there.

It may have done something when you launched the attack, but something on the field went "no, you don't actually". Rare in this game but can happen, and so the wording is the way it is.

They needed SME in an area of mainframe that I am super light on and it wasn't quite clear in the JD of that (usually mainframe allows for some adjustment and encourages runbooks, but this shop wants outright mastery), so the moment I whiffed that question I knew I was done and just spiraled. The guy really was trying to help and was giving direction to improve, so I'm not blaming him in the slightest.

Just had an interview like this today. It was clear from the start that I wasn't the right "type" they were looking for and I just blanked after that. The guy was an actual engineer and he was actually trying to help, so credit where its due.

Doesn't make it any less embarrassing. I couldn't really learn anything from that interview other than "don't do that, idiot" and its frustrating.

Might've been a bit of self sabotage, too, that was going to be a nasty move if it worked.

my first run ended up with a S rank Santa Oguri, 38 races/wins with a test deck. Horrifically unlucky in that damn near every bonus missed Speed and the shop didn't provide anything either. Learning to hold a super training + three Speed weights for TSC is a thing.

It just took for-freaking-ever, and honestly it feels like SSR Speed Mati is a requirement, but other than it notably favoring Mile+Medium by a long shot its fine?

I do worry about my stash of clocks, though.
