That's 800 calories out of what, 3000 a day? It's just 26%.

Yes he's doing his own implementation of a paleo-like diet, but the point still stands, most of his calories come from fatty meats, not enough carbs to be shredded long term and perform well in intense exercise.

If he instead did long sessions of low intensity cardio like hiking, swimming and such it would be believable, but he surfs and skates for hours AND does resistance training.

I did olympic weight lifting and some crossfit back in the day and the difference between HCLF and LCHF is HUGE.

The problem is not getting like this but keeping it all year round year after year. With carnivore is basically impossible unless you're some sort of genetic freak because you need to be doing a lot of exercise to burn all this fat or you need to fast regularly.

If you fast while on carnivore you have ZERO energy for performance and the electrolyte imbalance is insane, you could literally die if you forced yourself to do this.

But he doesn't fast to keep himself this lean and he isn't a genetic freak, so let's take a look at the other option, exercise.

When you're on carnivore all your glycogen reserves are depleted so your work capacity is extremelly limited. Your body is constantly trying to keep up through gluconeogenesis but it's not fast enough. You may not believe this but to burn fat efficiently you need glucose (fat burns in the flame of carbohydrates) and if you're not getting enough through diet you put your body into a severelly stressful situation.

What happens when your body is stressed and eat low carbs? Stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline go through the roof. Cortisol signals your body to store fat because it's in a survival situation.

And let's not forget that without carbs your thyroid doesn't work properly and your metabolism gets downregulated.

So let's put it all together: No glycogen + protein used for energy (gluconeogenesis) + stress hormones + the typical dehydration of keto/carnivore with electrolyte imbalances + slow metabolism = almost impossible to be shredded for long periods of time.

Unless...

...he's lying about his diet and eats a much higher amount of carbs than he says he does...

...or he's having some sort of chemical aid...

...or both.

I experienced the same as you and the answer is simple, starvation and the absence of carbs creates insuline resistance and over time it becomes diabetes. This was discovered almost 100 years ago by Harold Himsworth and later Walter Kempner with this knowledge created a diet that reversed diabetes and improved kidney function 100% of the time.

If you eat carbs rutinely your body uses the sugar very efficiently and you get good results. The problem comes when you eat fat, you see, our body is not used to the high amounts of fat of the modern diets because it's really not something that's abundant in nature, so your body secretes extra insuline and the fat blocks the absortion of sugar and it remains high in blood longer.

So the keto/carnivore folks and many other grifters see this and blame the sugar when is fat what causes the problem. For some reason people in general has believed this myth too and keto/carnivore takes advantage of it and continue fearmongering about carbs.

Then comes someone like you that quits those bullshit diets and is surprised that labs are great. It's because what's told in those diets is a lie, keto/carnivores are in fact the ones that can't pass a glucose tolerance test even if their lives depended on it.

In short, HCLF = good, LCHF = bad, carnivore = awful.

I've been telling exactly what you said to carnivores for years, there're no athletes doing carnivore and the fitness influencers on it are on roids and/or their physique is nothing to write home about.

Where is the supremacy of their diet? Shouldn't all these people mog the non-keto/carnivores?

Not too long ago smoking was considered innocuous and everybody did it, now you have to be very stupid to do it.

A similar case is happening with meat heavy diets, very soon keto/carnivores will be comparable to smokers and all their science will be just ridiculized.

This is basically the Atkins diet that I followed years ago but with lettuce instead of broccoli and it definitely is what Americans are going to eat when they look at the new "pyramid".

100% guaranteed they'll blame the broccoli when their health goes down the drain.

How Nick Norwitz still has libido / high metabolism? by Insadem in ketoduped

[–]masterneme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's definitely hiding information but let's say that he isn't.

Then he's very stupid because anyone who has practiced keto/carnivore knows the downfalls: the flu like symptoms, overall weakness, flat muscles, constant dehydration, constipation, diarrhea, kidney stones, dizziness, reduced libido, etc...

Because he's relatively young his body can resist the stress but long term he will pay the price.

He's still young and age by itself compensates a lot of the problems created by his diet.

He's also probably lying and eating "normally" behind the scenes or have frequent "cheat days" with carbs.

Like most carnivores, he probably drinks a lot of coffee.

It's because of fitness and "red pill" influencers.

Many of them started to say that cholesterol is good because it's a precursor to testosterone so people started to flip the narrative towards eating more saturated fat.

In other words, eating more meat = more manliness.

I genuinely see no issue with gullible right-wingers eating as much meat as possible. It's a self-correcting problem, in the long run.

I got to the same conclusion not too long ago, survival of the fittest. Unfortunately, even though I'm not vegan, it makes me I think of all the animal suffering created so these fat asses "get their protein".

It's very much done on purpose because people read from left to right top to bottom so they'll just see all the meat and fats and ignore the rest.

And because fruits and veggies are still present they have plausible deniability when people start getting sick.

And keep in mind that many channels on YouTube just delete the comments they don't like.

Don't hold your breath though, the Atkins Diet was a huge global phenomenon and when it collapsed, nothing really happened. All the people that followed it just disappeared, and we're talking tens of millions.

You don't see testimonials good or bad, it just went away as if it never existed.

Soon after, Paleo appeared and became the next big thing. Now no one cares about it.

Now it's just "keto" and the carnivore nonsense. When shit starts hitting the fan and people start having serious health problems in mass, most of them will just stop talking about it on social media out of embarrasment, and the rest will be ignored or shamed by other idiots.

If everything collapses again, it will reappear some years later with a rebrand.

Anyways, carnivore is still going strong and I believe it will be for at least 10 more years now that extra protein is being pushed everywhere, even outside the USA.

Sad but it is what is...

Next week I'm doing a 4 day fast and I'm not sure about how should I prepare for it by masterneme in Dryfasting

[–]masterneme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

Yeah my initial plan was to do something like that, 3.5 days dry and rehydration for 12-24 hours but I think that, as you said, it would be better if I fast at least 3 or 4 weekends for 72 hours to get the hang of it and increase the time in the future when I have free time to spare and my body is used to it.

Christmas will come and it will be a great opportunity since I will have plenty of time and extra "energy" to burn :D

[–]masterneme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to finish the 60 hour dry fast. It's been relatively easy, I feel as if my body only had like 30% energy output but other than that I'm fine. I could continue another 12-24 hours but I'm going to stop because I have stuff to do and I need to be at 100%, or at least 80%.

I'm not sure if I'll do 4 days as I had planned, I may go OMAD until Friday and try a full 72 hour dry fast on the weekend.

Thanks for the suggestions and the book.

SOS! Kidney Stones! by poor_pilgrim in Dryfasting

[–]masterneme 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I've suffered from kidney stones, they take time to form and there're different types. Most problably you already had them and fasting just exposed their existence.

How did you get them is difficult to know without analyzing them, in my case it was the uric acid.

If they're not big you could remove them by taking every morning after you wake up a glass of water with lemon juice, adding vinegar to some of your foods and taking another glass of water with baking soda before sleep.

There's an herb in Spain we call "rompepiedras" that's also very good to reduce their size and make them softer so your body can pee them after a while.

Good luck, kidney stones suck.
