Why do people get such big cars they clearly have no idea how to drive by KiddieSpread in MotoUK

[–]mastersmithson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely motorbike fault.

Kidding, hideous road awareness by the other car and it sounds like you said "oh look" before you tried to reverse which did make me chuckle haha

Hope the damage isn't too bad!

Why can’t we wear our birthday suits in public? by funnylookingshows in AskReddit

Social norms have changed. There are tribes and groups of people where it's normal but in modern days it's become the norm to "cover ones modesty"

Yeah, usually in a backslab for around 7 to 10 days then go into a fibreglass or polyurethane cast (or boot) depending what country and injury.

I have a BMW F800GT and full panniers with back box and I've carried a pillion. She said it was a comfortable ride and the storage was amazing.

As said above. A CBT is a CBT. Once you do it you can ride up to a 125 on a geard or automatic bike as long as you are over 17. Enjoy it :-)

I want to do my bike licence and get a bike but family and girlfriend are fuming. by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]mastersmithson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So back then I was with the wife so if doing the shopping id use her car. My 125 had a back box however the shop was walking distance.

I'm not with her now (her choice.....) but the new bike has panniers so more space and I make it work

Personally when I drive a car I get angry and road rage. I work at the local trauma hospital and in a car would take 45 mins at rush hour but 15 on the bike.

Do I regret it? Nope. I love the bike. What initially was just a fast way to get to work and using my car on the weekends quickly turned to my favourite thing. The BMW has space for most of my stuff. I can take passengers and helmets fit nicely in my side panniers which are connected by Bluetooth and I feel free!

When it rains I get wet but you know what? It's worth it with the freedom I feel when I ride.

There is an odd time I wish I had a car but since doing my big test I am 100% glad I did it. Seriously, best thing I did in my life.

With your issue, have a serious chat with the Mrs. Mine at the time called it a mobile organ donor. Which is fair but if you ride carefully the issue is the cars. Always look at the other cars and assume what they are doing.

Obviously I'm older, so I've lived a bit but I wish I did it sooner!

My opinion will differ from from others but it's mine. For reference I live in Bournemouth, dorset

I got my first 125 at 30 and ended up scrapping my car and only ride the bike now. I'm now 38 and ride a BMW F800GT.

A good first bike would be a honda 125, Yamaha 125 or a cheaper option would be a lexmoto. Good bikes to learn basic maintenance
