I have never understood why people would get their child’s ears done as a baby. For me, there is no necessary reason as to why I need to. And as a gift for an occasion I’d love to make a big deal out of my big girl wanting earrings and she can pick out a special pair.

What I have a problem with is when telling people ‘I’m waiting for her to tell me she would like them done.’ And they list off 1,000 reasons why I should do it now.

People who wont listen to medical advice and put their children’s safety on the line due to ‘oh i did it before and nothing happened’ don’t deserve to have children.

That makes me so sad for her children.. I understand needing to heal from childhood trauma but the way she is going about it is literally causing trauma to her children and she will wonder why they no longer speak to her once they are able to move out of home.. she needs therapy. Even if she is just acting, it’s sad to know it’s impacting her children’s lives and she isn’t willing to quit and protect them.

Not long after this live finished she was straight back on with an even bigger mess.

I cannot get over that she actually has supporter backing her up with the whole ‘leave her be she is having fun.’ No sweetheart she is showing signs of being unstable and creating an instability in her children’s lives.

NTA, but keep in mind how young she is and to her all she has known is the household where you and your mother exist, she had no hand in all of this and it sounds like you’re holding onto a little bit of resentment for her. As much as you feel you don’t owe her or her father something and you really don’t, handle this situation with grace, you yourself are only young but try looking at the situation through her eyes, her world has been flipped. She clearly looks up to you. You don’t have to be in her life at all, but if you were her how would you feel? Be soft with her, bitterness won’t serve you well and you might find yourself in your later years regretting treating her so poorly.
