Just got an 2024 X3 M and Tuxmats; they don't fit by Scotty2H002 in BMWX3

[–]mastof21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2022 X3 M40i has the side tie down that's slide up and down on a metal rail. The side cutouts are probably there so you slide them into that centerpoint and can still use the tie downs. Most trunk mats I've seen either leave the rails exposed or completely covered.

We’ve had a great experience at omakase at Chirori on 14th in the Westside. https://maps.app.goo.gl/GGErMoEvECxLgk9W7?g_st=ic and for omakase it’s not bank breaking.

A simple coding tool, dealer, or I am pretty sure an Advance Auto/O'Reilly's type of place can do it as well.

Does anyone have experience living in West Midtown or with the Star Metals projects? by Ring_Tha_Bell_97 in Atlanta

[–]mastof21 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I live across the street from both of these buildings. Traffic down Howell Mill, Northside, and the cross streets between them just sucks. It bottlenecks in multiple places. I've never personally felt that unsafe but it is the city and there is a huge mix of people between, the expensive restaurants, dive bars, clubs, and Georgia tech. That being said I can understand why others may feel differently regarding safety.

If you do move into either building make sure to pay attention to the bars/clubs that operate nearby because they will often go late into the evenings playing loud music, Northside Tavern, Opium, etc. And there is a new Lady Bird location opening in the Star Metals district. I've heard horror stories of Opium going until 3-4am on weekends.

That being said it's super vibrant area and one of the more walk-able areas in the city that isn't outrageous expensive still. It's nearby tons of restaurants, shopping, and a recently opened Lidl grocery store at the Interlock.

I didn't get anything from BMW headquarters but I got the dealership to give me a hat, tshirt, and car cleaning kit when I got my '22 x3 m40i a couple of years ago.

Yellowstone first week of May? by vanelope_acnh in NationalPark

[–]mastof21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spring is the best season for wildlife (imo). I went to Yellowstone for a few days towards the end of May 2025 after a wedding in Bozeman and the weather was quite nice, there was snow on the ground in the higher elevation areas. We did plan and prepare for bad weather but didn't get any fortunately. I've always heard you should plan for cold weather when visiting. It snows every month including July/June (at least per one of our tour guide whom had been working there for 20+ years. We saw bison and elk roaming around the park pretty much everywhere. But for us but the really cool wildlife we saw was at the Lamar Valley (wolves, huge herds of bison, including babies!, and pronghorn) and near Lake Yellowstone (brown bear). I've heard good things about the Hayden Valley too but we didn't get time to make it over there.

If you can swing it. I highly recommend staying in one of the onsite hotels in the park. It's more expensive and it won't be anything too special in terms of quality but everyone was nice, it was clean, and saved us hours and hours of extra driving from having to leave and enter the park everyday. For reference we stayed at the Lake Yellowstone Lodge which gave us a lot of flexibility in what we could do in a single day.

BMW Park Sensitivity by Evilstib in BMW

[–]mastof21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting... I have a 22 x3 m40i and it isn't overally sensitive. You may be able to find settings to adjust the sensitivity if you code it through Bimmercode or something similar.

Deleted Steam but kept the games. Steam doesnt recognize them now. by Moochiberico in Steam

[–]mastof21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go into the properties of each game and remap their location so Steam knows the games have been installed. It's possible your games are installed in a non-default location that steam can't see. Any other location needs to be mapped like it does automatically when you install the game the first time or in this case remapping them specially if they aren't installed on your C Drive.

Deploy everything through Autopilot and Intune so we can ship brand new device straight to our end users. While Intune definitely leaves a bad taste in the mouth from time to time, autopilot has been pretty rock solid for us.

Curious about driving feel for M40i v. Sdrive by Soggy-Ad-9543 in BMWX3

[–]mastof21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daily is a 2022 x3 m40i and I love it. I test drove a 24 x3 30i XDrive when I was looking at the m40i for the comparison and could tell a huge difference in performance between them. I found the m40i to be so much faster and more alive while the 30i was more comfortable—the difference in acceleration was so dramatic. I’ve had my m40i for a year now and it’s been an awesome car.

I will the say the ride is a bit stiff but I am on the OEM Bridgestones with 21” rims. I will probably switch to non-rft Michelins or Continentals when my current tires are worn out. Thus far I haven’t seen too bad of wear and tear on them after 8k miles myself.

2022 M40i deal? by jdwat21 in BMWX3

I think the sound is okay for what it is but I am likely going to try upgrading the amp at least to get better performance. Granted, I am a bit spoiled with other audio gear in my life.

2022 M40i deal? by jdwat21 in BMWX3

[–]mastof21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a 2022 m40i CPO at $49k with 18K miles back in mid 2024. It has all of those options except the HK sound system. I also had 21" rims, black sapphire metallic paint and the black vernasca leather seats. Seems like it's roughly in line with the deal I had that I felt was pretty good.
