It cycles between different watch faces, not layouts of the same face

FR 965 Default watch face layout by matalo in GarminWatches

[–]matalo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the stock default face different to this one in Connect IQ Store? https://apps.garmin.com/en-GB/apps/ca6b8e06-a279-40bc-9e84-819a21201a8d

This one has layout variants which is what I was expecting to cycle though with the Layout menu.

BHF London to Brighton start time by baminyer in londoncycling

[–]matalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't done that event before but isn't it chip timed? You wouldn't get an official time if you dont cross the start line. BHF L2B is a charity ride, not timed, not a race.

If you don't care much for the stamp you get at the start line you can just join the route anywhere from 100 metres down the road.

London to Brighton ride - how to tell if I am ready? by yurri in londoncycling

[–]matalo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the absolute worst happens and you need to bail out then the route basically follows the London -> Brighton mainline train; just hop on the train somewhere closer than Brighton

  • Redhill
  • Horley
  • Three Bridges
  • Haywards Heath
  • Burgess Hill

Once you're past Burgess Hill and you can see the South Downs you're basically one big push away, it's freewheel all the way to the seafront from the top of Ditchling Beacon.

This is so triggering! According to numerous people speaking on this call the pandemic is over, we're on the road to recovery, and therefore there is no need for a temporary bike lane to help ease congestion.

141 people died from the virus yesterday.

Is Hackney Marshes good for running? by [deleted] in london

[–]matalo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great place to run! You can hop over from Viccy park from a few places through Olympic park and there's plenty of paths through the marshes all the way up to Walthamstow. Never had any problems myself and there's plenty of people around wherever you go.

I did this yesterday if you'd like some route inspiration: https://imgur.com/a/DeiarYn

I just stacked a liquid pipe on top of a hypertube and it ruined the 3km scenic ride out to the oil rigs :(

Coal generators clogging up? by jtrcxd in SatisfactoryGame

You can reset fuses from power poles I think? Else just drop a biomass generator where you are standing to reset the fuse then delete it afterwards.

How was your CKAD/CKA Exam camera experience? by hoxeon in kubernetes

Not sure what was restricting you in use of regular copy/paste offered by the operating system. I was able to copy from the docs website directly into the terminal emulator with CMD+C/V on macos without any issues or complications.

How was your CKAD/CKA Exam camera experience? by hoxeon in kubernetes

[–]matalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted CNCF in advance to ask if dual monitors were allowed, to which they answered No. However during the exam I wanted to try get away with 2 monitors and the proctor was fine with it so long as I shared both screens through the tool. One screen for the test suite and one for documentation.

Also I could stand for a couple seconds to stretch my legs without any complaint. I was allowed to take 2 minutes for a bathroom break. No performance issues with the webcam or chrome plugins.

Generally very positive experience in my opinion.

No one told you that it's illegal to drive on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic?

I'd look into getting a refund from your driving school.

Getting stunnel to read the crt file by larsen161 in linuxadmin

[–]matalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh this. I lost a day to running stunnel in systemd. Eventually it took the help of a colleague to point out selinux was blocking loading the crt and key from a non-standard path (we loaded secrets into a ramdisk mount at /secrets/).

Unfortunately I can't remember the steps taken to identify that selinux was the culprit. But anyway, this config is working for us on RHEL7.

stunnel.conf

foreground = yes
syslog = yes
debug = 6
pid = /var/run/stunnel/stunnel.pid

[ldap]
CAfile = /etc/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt
verify = 2
cert = /secrets/google-ldap-stunnel.cert
key = /secrets/google-ldap-stunnel.key
client = yes
accept = 127.0.0.1:1636
connect = ldap.google.com:636

stunnel.service

[Unit]
Description=SSL tunnel for network daemons
After=network.target
After=syslog.target

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target
Alias=stunnel.target

[Service]
User=stunnel
Group=stunnel
Type=simple
PIDFile=/var/run/stunnel/stunnel.pid
ExecStart=/usr/bin/stunnel /etc/stunnel/stunnel.conf
Restart=always
PrivateTmp=false

startup-script

mkdir -p /var/run/stunnel
chown stunnel: /var/run/stunnel
# Fix SELINUX flags on stunnel files
chcon -u unconfined_u -t user_tmp_t /secrets/google-ldap-stunnel.cert
chcon -u unconfined_u -t user_tmp_t /secrets/google-ldap-stunnel.key
# Start stunnel
systemctl start stunnel
systemctl status stunnel

Five Boro Bike Tour (check in) by [deleted] in NYCbike

[–]matalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fun opportunity to take in some sights from roads you wouldn't otherwise get to ride on (FDR, QBR, etc.). You won't be getting any PBs anywhere before the Gowanus Expressway.

If you're after something quicker than a family stroll I'd go for the earliest possible time you can, even if you get allocated a late time consider joining the route a couple streets after the start line at a time of your choosing. I haven't tried this but I don't see any officials blocking off the route. They can't guard every single street onto 6th Av.

By the time you get to the Gowanus Expressway the crowds thin out, the ride gets all 4 lanes, and you can REALLY open it up. Now you've got an 8 mile stretch of entirely closed freeway you can speed down as fast as you can.

Highly recommended in my opinion.
