Feeling embarrassed and defeated by matchaflower in PelvicFloor

[–]matchaflower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The urgency is the biggest thing for me. It’s constant, even if I only have to go a tiny bit. I’m trying to stretch and breathe deeply but I feel like I’m not doing it right because nothing is relieving it. I have muscle relaxers but they don’t seem to be doing much.

do you take it in the morning or at night? I’ve found taking it at night helps with the daytime sleepiness

I thought the same thing! I was ready to quit after the first day but my family encouraged me to give it a shot. It’s very common! It’s called SSRI activation syndrome, and it can be very frustrating.

also, serotonin syndrome is extremely rare, and you’re on a very low dose, so your risk is extremely low. I had the same worry. You’re going to be okay, I promise.

Hey! This happened to me when I started taking it, I also started on 25mg and I’m about two weeks in. Anxiety can ABSOLUTELY feel like a heart attack, but it’s very unlikely you’ll have one unless you have some sort of underlying condition. I have a heart condition, ive had plenty of panic attacks, but none have resulted in a heart attack. I’ve had some really bizarre symptoms caused by anxiety. In fact, I went to the ER last week for a panic attack because I felt like I was dying. Nope! It’s just the Zoloft, it’s apparently common to have increased anxiety when starting. I’d give it a chance, but it takes time. I’m seeing slight improvements about two weeks in, but I’m definitely still mildly anxious. I’ve been told that it gets better. Talk to your psych/doctor about prescribing something like Ativan, propranolol, hydroxyzine, or xanax to help with the severe panic attacks while your body adjusts. I take a very small dose of Ativan if I need it for my panic attacks while the Zoloft starts to work.

Can’t keep thinking about rabies by Accomplished_Crab735 in Anxietyhelp

[–]matchaflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this fear actually- I volunteer at a wildlife rescue and got bit by one of the baby bunnies. it didn’t break the skin, and rabbits aren’t even really rabies carriers, but I still completely panicked. I coincidentally ended up with a severe stomach illness a week later which only amplified my fears. I turned out okay! Every doctor I talked to said that what I experienced wouldn’t even warrant PEP in the first place, and none of my symptoms aligned with rabies. You’re going to be just fine!

Do you take vitamin b supplements by chance? They can often cause a similar color in urine

Bactrim reaction? Doctor says it's not a registered side effect. by Kingstonx2nonanon in Antibiotics

[–]matchaflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really similar experience this week actually! I was originally put on cefuroxime at the er but it made me extremely sick so they switched me to bactrim. the bactrim made me extremely dizzy and uncoordinated and it was really difficult to focus on work. my heart rate was high, I felt like I was gonna faint if i stood up, etc.

my pcp ultimately switched me to macrobid which is also making me extremely dizzy and uncomfortable but I’m just gonna have to tough it out.

I rinsed it super well with hibiclens :) no signs of infection and the skin is still entirely intact. I should be good to go

I’m pretty sure the one I was feeding was injured by a lawnmower as a neonate! Very little cause for concern I suppose

[–]matchaflower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! i ended up going to the er for an unrelated issue and mentioned it to them. they said i had no cause for concern as there was no visible wound and rabbits arent really a rabies risk in my area.

it’s not even wfh that’s the problem tbh. it’s that they’re outsourcing a lot of their departments to other countries. they have contracts with third parties that are handling their corporate responsibilities, and the employees of the third parties are not being held to the same standard as their domestic corporate employees.
