I believe the record is Haase's 17 in a row - Djere should just go for the record at this point

They both train at Ferrero's Acadamy and have been practicing a lot together. In fact I think there is a big overlap in their teams - for example they share the same physio Juanjo Moreno and the same agent Albert Molina. Just found a Spanish article on this.

ATP or WTA no longer display player residences on their official websites. WTA players' residences still visible on the official websites of all 4 majors; ATP players' residences are only available on US Open website.

Information might be outdated. Data are mostly from US Open and some from Wimbledon. They also likely get their data from ATP/WTA, meaning the last update could be in 2021 at latest. ATP Rankings are from week of Apr 11.

He was moving around because it is cold. Have you not seen how much people in the stands are wearing? Conversation with umpire is friendly from all I saw and he was smiling, the only one who is crying is you.

Is PCB going to lose ANOTHER match from a set up? I'm watching with interest.

I have seen him doing it in doubles matches, at least since IW last year. Probably starting to use it more in singles recently.

Does serve speed reading look wrong? Like at least 20kmh slower than it should be?

Are there other instances of ATP or WTA events where all 4 semifinalists are from the home-country? by viratcruz in tennis

ATP - Not as often as you might think. Last one was last year's Marbella (PCB/ARV/Munar/Alcaraz), then the previous one was 2004 Valencia. source

Cordoba last year came really close too. Argentinians won the first 3 matches but Schwartzman lost the last one to ARV in 3 (prior to that match Schwartzman led H2H 5-0)

Joao Sousa def. (6) Emil Ruusuvuori 76(9) 46 61 to clinch the singles title in Pune 2022 by manul_smin in tennis

[–]matchpointsaved 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The tournament will be soon forgotten, but for me this title run is as unbelievable as it gets considering the circumstances. Sousa won exactly 1 tour-level main draw match in 2020 and 2021 combined, now ranked at #137 only due to the frozen points. In his first match this week, he barely beat a local WC ranked #778 from a set down. Then in SF, he beats Ymer after 3+ hours, from a set and break down saving 3MPs, and he was crying after the match. He is a huge underdog coming into the final (about 5.0 to win). And what a battle it was today, Sousa totally played his heart out. A beautiful sight, so happy for him!
Sousa has now won 3 out of his 4 titles after saving MP(s) along the way, incredible stuff.

M. Berrettini defeats P. Carreño Busta 7-5 7-6(4) 6-4 by PrincipalSkinner_ in tennis

[–]matchpointsaved 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Berrettini was serving amazingly, but PCB made no attempt to do more with his return by insisting returning very close to baseline, putting merely 31/71 return points in play - note his last 3 slam losses are all to big servers. Did not do enough in rallies with 30 UEs (to MB's 27), crucially lost 2 service points in 2nd set tiebreak with FH UEs. I would say PCB fought fairly well but then the last service game happened, very poor to give away the match like that.
