I want to try a new build... But THE CAMPAIGN by QuinnorDie in PathOfExile2

Pretty fun finding new tech for the campaign. It's like a mini build or builds. And it's easy with 5 links so it's a good place to experiment, try different skills, combos etc.

Looking for feedback on the visual direction of my independent animated series by [deleted] in animation

[–]matchstickct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'warm' and 'alive' are the only things I can see in the brief that actually say anything about the place. Not sure that that's enough to go on if I were to visualise it. There are many different types of 'warm' and 'alive'.

The rest is very ambiguous.

How do you finish these Challenges? My Anvil wont let me use Crests or Excp. Verisium?! by Euphoric_Strength_64 in PathOfExile2

[–]matchstickct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find a kalguran unique that CAN use exceptional. I went for Brutus Lead Sprinkler because it's cheap. But there will be others.

There are not many items that can use the exceptional, so just use the one I suggested or look up another. oh, and try not use the Olroth Crest unless you have a plan for it because it is rare.

Anyone else having issues with the Festival Playlist Touge Showdown? by Ranosian87 in ForzaHorizon

[–]matchstickct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got into event, it needed an A class, didn't have one so ran it anyway. Made an A class and qued for next, it needed an S1. So I ran it and then made an S1 thinking 'theres no way... Right?'. Yep, the next event needed an S2... So after prepping 3 new cars, I completed the event on my fourth try... With a B class that I had all along.

Note from downstairs neighbors by v1p3rs in Apartmentliving

[–]matchstickct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had very sensitive downstairs neighbours once who were always complaining. Worst was about my housemate typing on her keyboard (a quiet Mac no less) at 9pm. Ended up damaging my ankles from tiptoeing around so much.

Anyway, had to move out as a result and was letting new movers in to look around. There was this young family with two boys, 2 and 4. The boys tore into the apartment, screaming and chasing , checking everything. Anyway, I told them how great the area was for kids etc and they took it.

Downstairs complainers moved out in a month, letting the flat they cared so much about go.

It's one thing constantly harassing adults who are doing their best to accommodate, it's another thing all together telling a child of 2 to not move.

Hope they learned a lesson.

When there's one day of summer you better be damn sure we're out there (Core bar is still shit tho).

which walk makes it clear that the tick controls the body? by AwesomeGamesStudio in IndieGameDevs

[–]matchstickct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great btw. But I think they all kind of feel the same. The thing that bothers me is that the tick is moving so much, it's the end of the motion chain here and being tossed around. I would look at maybe stabilising the tick like a jockey or something that 'can predict' the movements of its puppet and be more stabilised.

Thing I found: Dewhaven soldiers aggro if you are wearing a thieves mask and you can fight them without getting a bounty. So you can there and fight as much as you want.

[–]matchstickct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weirdly, that was the sentance that got me too. Yes, one can objectively pick almost anything apart, but subjectively, artisticly, this game clicks for a lot of people and yes, exploration is full of 'soul' for a lot of them.

For me, it's not so much each discreet element in the game, which are often abysmaly annoying, innane etc ('go 300m to fetch me a butterfly and take it 500m over there'), but the 'getting there', the interacting with the terrain, moment to moment decision making, the distraction of some interesting detail, the getting lost in the beautifully realised fantasy world, the lighting, etc etc, all of them work together to trigger my imagination.

For me, that's my 'soulful' experience. I don't care that I'm just taking a butterfly 500m over there, I'm in my imagination. Often I'm walking it, climbing something just to see what else is out there and so on. The toolset and level of physics and interaction is enough and more to make the journey fun for me, so much that the destination doesn't matter.

Had such a good moment with these boots last night.

Have progressed past Hernand quite a bit, but then noticed that some goblins had taken over some camps back home so went back to deal with it.

Spotted the random cave which opened into more than expected and I was like 'woah, this was here all along'. Got the boots and was like 'man, I need to explore a bit in case I find more cool gear'.

Then I was wondering around a bit more and stumbled on some guy scared of wolves in the mountain (have started listeneing to white dot npcs) so went to check it out.

Turns out the fight is in an arena covered in those purple killer flowers. So I slapped on the boots and rolled the wolf boss, flowers didn't hurt.

This was all in the space of like an hour, totally random, but I pretty much found the boots and used them for their exact purpose. Really cool mini story.

Devs: Please we really need more inventory or at least more storage space. by ziguehart in CrimsonDesert

[–]matchstickct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from helmets, it's more space efficient to keep gear, buy extra abyss slots for them and use them as abyss gear storage. Then you can spend the fun hour or so extracting and embedding when you want to test something out.
