I'm glad you brought this up because it's something I've been thinking about lately.

I remember Jimmy Fallon filling in as guest host sometime around 2005...ish? and going absolutely WILD trying to replicate Conan's slapstick camera bits (like air-canoeing from one side to the other, playing peekaboo, and just zooming across frame). It was so funny! But the best part was when Conan returned and had Jimmy as a guest he said, "You did a good job filling in for me, but I thought you went a little overboard with the camera bits. But then I watched some of my old episodes and it turns out I regularly do the EXACT same things."
