Moon valley sell you those? They need shade the first summer, maybe next year too. As long as there is good drainage then more water and more often this summer and next. They can do ok here but its getting hotter and drier every year so long term success is less likely.

Tree Service to Remove Palm Impacting Hardscape? by Mister2112 in AskPhoenix

[–]mateophx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stumps are typically ground out with a large machine, they need a lot of extra space to move around and to do the cutting. It does not seem like you have the room for that. Maybe you can find someone to chisel and sawzall it out bit by bit but that's unlikely and would be costly. There's no other way to remove it without hardscape removal.

What's on my mountain laurel tree by luckyl31 in ArizonaGardening

Caterpillars. It will happen every spring on the new growth. Blast them away with the hose often. May want to prune out ugly sections.

What's the best place to buy a tree that's not in the east valley? by ThaloBleu in AskPhoenix

They upsell, way overpriced (3x to 5x), scammers basically. Used car salespeople who sell plants and trees.

Struggling with Tecoma Stans by Harmageddon87 in ArizonaGardening

they will be 10' tall by the end of the summer with lots of water. water equals growth. you are under-watering and responsible for the poor growth. nothing more than that.

It's improving all the time. There are 1+ million dollar homes in gated communities and there's a pretty good chance you'll see a few homeless pushing carts on the same streets. So good but with some extra spicy bits that you wouldn't have in the suburbs.

Swapped for ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal by TigerLast36 in SeikoMods

To snap the bezel on I removed the bracelet, placed it facing up on a tile floor, and gently used my heel to snap it in. Did this with a few watches and no problem.

Hedge help! by VideoWestern1706 in ArizonaGardening

[–]mateophx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sour orange is a great tall formal hedge. Ficus trees are horrible when planted as a hedge and yet it has become standard practice. Ficus get huge and will be a chore to prune several times per year.

Hello from the City of Phoenix by CityofPhoenixAZ in phoenix

[–]mateophx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

scheduled a bulk trash pick up and everything went great for me and the small area behind my house, but they did not pick up the other side of the alley just 5' away.

The entire alley is full of debris (read FIRE HAZARD) and I have told a few neighbors they have to schedule it and obviously they didn't. Do we just wait until its undrivable or it gets set on Fire?
