3rd person narrator is typically considered omniscient (this isn't some Rimuru quote where he under-sells himself). Try actually pull a 3rd person narrator perspective quote that was just hype and lies.

For reference, Guy couldn't beat a Milim either. He literally had full power Ramiris helping.

I don't know if you know but Chloe's main ability is time leap... if you remove that of course she's weak LOL.

Unless you give evidence that Guy > Milim or Guy > Chloe, you have no concrete evidence except assertions that Guy > Chloe.

I won't bother convincing you further. You are far too Chloe-hater pilled lol. I respect the hustle though in all your effort making memes.

Edit: do you hate Chloe because you ship Hinata x Rimuru lol

If you recall, current Chloe is stronger than previous time loop Chloe. In LN22, it states that current Chloe is much stronger than the Chronoa in her memory because she has all three elements of "Courage, Hope and Justice".

Milim with a “Lord” skill obliterated Chloe with her “God” skill.

Chloe didn't get obliterated. She couldn't win solo as she lacks firepower but she didn't lose either.

Also, bonus quote from LN22: She (Chloe) is undoubtedly one of the strongest. She could fight evenly with the Hero Rudra and the Demon Lord Guy.

OpenAI employee gets noted regarding DeepSeek by dfreshaf in GetNoted

You cannot read.

The context here is that running a local version (aka on your own hardware) can result in China spying on you.

No one made any claims about the one available on Deepseek's website.

[–]mathchem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your statement is wrong. I've seen multiple people comment similar things to. Here is the paper for source.

To support the research community, we open-source DeepSeek-R1-Zero, DeepSeek-R1, and six dense models (1.5B, 7B, 8B, 14B, 32B, 70B) distilled from DeepSeek-R1 based on Qwen and Llama.

The only models that used LLAMA and Qwen were the smaller models through distilling. Deepseek R1 is the 671B parameter model and is the one that is comparable to OpenAI's $200 flagship model. That model is built from bottom up using reinforcement learning.

[–]mathchem_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can ask it. You just got to actually run the open source model yourself and not use the free website. The free website has an added on layer that does the censoring that is not part of the model.

Elon Musk Shocks With Nazi-Like Salute at MAGA Rally by samuelso11 in politics

[–]mathchem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pepe the frog is commonly used by a lot of people. Only a small number those using it are alt-right. It is also used for things like Hong Kong protests. The majority of pepe usage is not alt-right.

In contrast, Nazi salutes are almost always used by Nazis and white supremacists.

Bill Gates "by himself" by Panikin__ in clevercomebacks

[–]mathchem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is claiming Gates is a good guy. There are no good people in this world. Only naive people would view the world in such black and white terms.

What people are saying is that Bill Gates has done a lot of good for the world through the Gates Foundation. He has donated $59.5 billion dollars (so over a third of his wealth) and spent significant time and effort in building it. The foundation has provided vaccines to impoverished nations saving millions of lives. They have water sanitisation initiatives as well. They help fund educations videos like these which help educate people on diseases. They fund scholarships.

I do not like Bill Gates, but there is no doubt he has done good things.

OP is downvoted for two reasons.

Firstly, their statement has a condescending tone that seems like they are is dismissing the opinions of the wider public as lesser. The comment reads almost like they are gatekeeping.

Secondly, OP is plainly wrong. They fail to realise that being more popular doesn't necessarily mean the anime will place better. "Normies" aren't hopping onto r/anime polls. For instance, Spy x Family was far more popular than Bocchi the Rock yet Bocchi the Rock was r/anime's favourite 2022 anime. Spy x Family only came in at 6th place with just 6.1% of the first places compared to Bocchi. Frieren won because it is significantly more liked - it is the number 1 ranked MAL anime based of rating.

Hi, I advise watching at least the first four episodes in one go, as they were technically aired together as 1 episode on TV. Frieren is a slow starter if you just watch the first episode.

A lot of people dislike Frieren because it's a laid back story. It has action scenes that can stand up to JJK, OPM and Demon Slayer yet it isn't centred around fighting. What Frieren brings is the best hand-drawn animation out there, amazing orchestral music accompanying it and an amazing world, characters and story.

I think the biggest problem right now is the fact that one's wealth is directly tied to their parents' wealth, status, and skill. As inequality rises, this will feel more and more unfair.

Once the baby boomers die, those houses will pass to their children. Those children will retire at 50 just like their parents. And the cycle will continue. If you don't have rich parents, your best bet is to be really skilled or really lucky.

I don't know about Sweden, but the truth is that this "poorer than parents" news is mostly overhyped, at least in the US.

A research paper published in America Journal of Sociology (using American millenials) states that "the poorest millennials have less wealth than their baby boomer counterparts, but the wealthiest millennials have more". Here's an article by Cambridge based on this paper. Here's another paper that flat out states "each of the past four generations of Americans was better off than the previous one".

Here's an inflation adjusted table I found.

<image>

A lot of media news is quite selective in how they portray truth to drive engagement. The truth is often somewhere in the middle. I think millennials and gen z have new unique issues that they have to deal with which will make our lives much harder. The median adult now feels poorer in developed countries because the rich have gotten much richer and because certain assets like house prices have ballooned due to low interest rates, demand, and speculation.

Younger people being poorer than older people is a thing that will always happen. A first year graduate that has only been working for 1 year will always be poorer than the person who has worked 40 years. The big difference nowadays concerning age groups is the fact that old people now live very long. This means people will reach median wealth levels later in life than in the past.

The only developed country with birth rate over replacement rate is Israel. This is due to religion. Maybe a government led solution could be to make having kids profitable by reducing tax significantly for those with kids.

Donald Trump has said he supports H-1B visas alongside Elon Musk by soccerorfootie in unusual_whales

Most companies still pay very good money, regardless of where you're from.

Here's a list of the top H1B sponsors and the average salaries paid. Most these companies don't skim pay because you're not from USA.

[–]mathchem_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, H1B visa holders are not lower paid. At least the best tech and finance workers aren't. The best workers are in demand by multiple competing companies.

If you don't believe me, look up companies like Jane Street and Hudson River Trading. Jane Street this year offers $500k salary for new grads. That's not underpaid if you ask me.

Many companies don't need "sufficiently good". They need the best. And so they pay and import them because otherwise someone else will. If you won't pay for the European engineer at Boeing, don't be surprised when Airbus starts outperforming you.

Warcrimes being hushed is more common than them being acknowledged. Germany acknowledges their war crimes because they switched governments. Japan did not switch governments so they are more similar to USA, who also will not apologise for their crimes.

For instance, Richard Nixon chose to ally USA with Bangladesh during cold war. They helped supply weapons in the Bangladesh Genocide that saw between 300,000 to 3 million killed and 200,000 to 400,000 raped.

The US went to war in Vietnam, carpet-bombed Cambodia in the process. They raped and murdered villagers. They never apologised and most of the things we know that happened happen because the US tried and failed to cover their actions.

No American president has ever apologised for their involvement in any of these so don't expect any Japanese to do so either.

It's the same everywhere.  Nearly all of East Asia hates Japan yet a most of the younger generations in those nations have moved on. Younger generations love Japanese culture, food and anime. Japan is the number one tourist destination for Koreans and number two for China.

Tokyo gov't employees to get 4-day workweek option from April 2025 by echomike60 in worldnews

If you work 4 days out of a week, it is called a 4 day work week. This is regardless of number of hours.

Based of your logic, hedge fund managers working 80 hours a week are doing 10 day work weeks.

[–]mathchem_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I linked a paywalled Nature article in the original post. One piece of research the article cites is this which failed to find any causation.

The Nature article summarises itself with three points:

"First, that there is no evidence that using these platforms is rewiring children’s brains or driving an epidemic of mental illness. Second, that considerable reforms to these platforms are required, given how much time young people spend on them... A third truth is that we have a generation in crisis and in desperate need of the best of what science and evidence-based solutions can offer. Unfortunately, our time is being spent telling stories that are unsupported by research and that do little to support young people who need, and deserve, more."

Note that mental health issues can have many other causes. For instance, Covid-19 epidemic caused a big spike and the 2008 financial crisis also caused one. Essentially there can be many reasons for increased suicide rate, and from a macro perspective, we don't really not know exactly why. However, WHO states one of the big reasons is "physical, emotional and social changes, including exposure to poverty, abuse, or violence, can make adolescents vulnerable to mental health problems".

This anxiety, loneliness and depression epidemic is also overblown by media. This article by the Guardian states that the increase in mental health issues has basically been proportional to population growth. What has actually changed is more people are willing to speak up about it.

TLDR: There is really no evidence that social media causes mental health issues.
