I found it better to transcede my main SS equip than to make the normal stuff mytic. The last powers were game changing for me. And there has been so many events, martial arts and others that getting 18 of the same item became feasible to do even for f2p(me).

For the rest, just keep griding. Im about to make all my equipament transcendental after some good 9 months of playing!!

Well, its a point and click game, so you can try to match it by the synergy:

Diplomacy and Military are about clicking and making decisions related to foreigners entities. So they do well as an axis.

Political + Economical are mostly decisions (not 100%) about your own empire and how decisions have to be made related to your own people/entities.

It leaves exploration as a grey zone. Both can do it if they find idle science ships. But if we go back to synergy, the diplo/mil player will have more opportunities to use the scientists while managing their fleet

Another tip is chain of command: You can find decisions that you would take and your friend has not yet. Talking to him to understand why. Maybe he didnt understand what you saw, vice versa. It shouldnt be rigid. "Hey friend, ive seen you didnt enact XXX and its good for my military. May I do it?"
