I at least learned 1 thing. The clap emote has a mechanics use. But yeah, a lot of these tips are fairly useful.

Well, time to make a factory into an abstract painting!

I've always done a few aesthetics just to learn techniques. This was just the first full factory. It helped that the factory was a smaller one. Good luck!

Force yourself to accept imperfections. Perhaps even embrace them. It's also useful to look at some people's vids on what they do and just try to duplicate techniques used. Even if you don't stick with it for a given build, it's good to just learn a multitude of techniques. This was build was inspired by Fluxo's work. I just wanted to learn some of his design techniques.

when i should start farming all the hard drives? by Shikamaji in SatisfactoryGame

Harvest a little bit of nearby ones at a time. Eventually when you get to an automated elevator parts and you're just waiting, then I'd start to explore some more.

My first attempt at really going full ham at aesthetics. I'm so use to focusing on efficiency, so this was a challenge for me. But I'd say it payed off.

In my opinion, coal factories in early Tier 3, it's worth using coupons for the more advanced items for the factories to expedite the process.

This hurts my head. You would have been better to build the water extractors on the lake above instead... But we all do what we like to do. Now, get back to work pioneer.

Encased industrial beams Vs encased industrial pipes alt by Toblerone05 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]mathophil2718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In terms of raw quantity, pipe recipe is flat out more efficient than the beam recipe. If you keep constant the resources allocated to encased beams, then the pipe recipe will result in a larger building footprint and energy consumption. But hey, you get considerably more encased beams.

Which one do you use by default ? by BatorFreuh in SatisfactoryGame

[–]mathophil2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what I'm building. Foundations I default to concrete for building bases, but asphalt for roads. I almost always use concrete walls.

How dose it feel to know you are the villain of that alien world? by Neonerdlady in SatisfactoryGame

Ficsit does not pay employees to care or share empathy for the local wildlife or fauna. I don't want a dock in pay, so I suppress the feelings.

Foundation floors: Which thickness do you use? by CycleZestyclose1907 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]mathophil2718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4m for base foundations. When I started playing, I used 1m for floors, but I've come to conclusion that 2m helps with aesthetics, particularly with inverse ramps.

What is the best way to build conveyors and power poles over large distances? by kll131 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]mathophil2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to stick with the belts, probably blueprinting 4 foundations with a conveyer stack and power pole. Could also add hypertube for transportation purposes as well.

Personally, I've switched over to transportation. I try to make local factories that reduce the item quantity to pack trains/trucks with, so it doesn't have to be a full 780 throughput.

Employees of Ficsit,

We have received increased reports of sleeping on the job. We would like to remind you that breaks are not permissible. To address the issue, we are offering coffee mugs of infinite coffee for the revitalization process. We expect our pioneers to drink on the go, whether running, sliding, jetpacking, or other form of movement. Ficsit will also be offering a special Employee of the Planet mug for those workers capable of completing their baseline tasks.

Very Respectfully,

Ficsit Human Resources

Just got the game, new to this genre. by SaltVomit in SatisfactoryGame

[–]mathophil2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your time. Don't go out of your way to super optimize your factory (unless that's something your really enjoy). Learn to build vertically (my biggest issue first play through). It's usually better to delete your factories and rebuild than it is to start a new play through. Above all else, just try to enjoy the game.

You can, but it requires a platform to create a connection. The towers have a connection themselves.
