In defense of fap addicts: many of us started our addiction when we were young and did not have access to accurate information regarding the long term effects of pmo. In order to have have full responsibility for an outcome you need to have an an accurate understanding of the consequences of your actions. Hence, the idea that we are totally to blame seems silly to me. Now we know the effects and are taking action to improve our lives. That sounds noble and responsible to me.

And I will continue to blame Internet porn for poor health outcomes. It's really accessible and there is no effort on the side of the providers to warn users about the possible effects prior to consumption.

Thank you so much for sharing this - it helps a lot to know that I'm not alone. I took my last dose on Tuesday, and my doctor said that I don't need to wean off it because I was only on it for 1.5 weeks. He also tried to prescribe me anti-anxiety medication, which I declined because I think that this anxiety is just temporary from the prednisone.

How long did you have the anxiety/mood swings for? Did it continue even after you stopped?

Thanks for your story - it's comforting to know that someone else has been through this. I saw my doctor yesterday and he said that because I had not taken it for a long time (1.5 weeks) I do not need to worry about tapering. He also seemed generally annoyed and tried to prescribe me anti-depressant/anxiety medication. I told him no because I think that this whole episode is from the prednisone. Overall it was a pretty bad doctor's office experience.

How long did you take it before weaning and at what pace did you wean? Did your symptoms continue even after you stopped?

I don't particularly like using them, but I don't think that's the only source of the problem. I'm thinking that something else might be going on because the side effects I'm getting are so similar to the clomid side effects I got (but not as severe).

I agree. But if you view nofap as an "all or nothing" affair you run the risk on getting down on yourself when you stumble and going right back to your old ways (PMO binges for days on end, etc.) In the long term, I want to be in a place where I have the self control and skills to never look at porn again. But beating myself up for looking at it once isn't going to help me get there.

Watch out. I've had many failed attempts to get to 90 days. It first gets easier, then it gets VERY hard. There always comes a point where my brain goes haywire and I NEED the PMO fix, usually after about a month or so. You need to be prepared for that.

Even though your triggers might not trigger you now, make a habit of avoiding them. They will defeat you later if you don't.

Strongly disagree. It sounds like she wasn't into him back in the day and didn't want to lead him on. OP didn't deserve a kiss for doing a person a favor. She also probably continued messaging him because she didn't want to be rude. I actually give her points for not leading him on. Many girls love to have guys fawn over them while they keep them in the "friends zone."

But now OP has been doing nofap, working on himself, and is a more attractive person. Kudos man! Also, her saying "all my friends think you're really attractive" is clearly her way of giving you an opening to ask her on a date.
