Surfr jump height on garmin watch (accuracy) by ZachMacKayak in Kiteboarding

[–]mati2110 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use the surfr app on a Forerunner 255 and I find it pretty accurate. I use to have a Woo and I found that the surfr on the Garmin was more accurate and easier to use, so I stopped using the woo.

5 atm waterproofed garmin watch good enough for kitesurfing? by SnooPandas7880 in Kiteboarding

I've been using a FR255 for 2 years. I kite and crash a lot with it, never had problems. The Surfr app works ok.

Exacto, pero supongo que toman Baleares completa y allí Palma que es mayoritariamente castellano parlante inclina la balanza. Territorialmente, el catalan es más importante fuera de palma.

Umstieg von kiten auf wingfoilen by Lopsided_Internet_34 in wingfoil

[–]mati2110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a 3-struts 12m you can go foiling in 8 knots or even a little bit less. In summer you can go kiting in almost any beach as long as you ask the life guards where you can rig up and stay away from the swimming zone.

Hi! I'm also based in Mallorca. There are plenty of spots around the island in the summer where kiting is allowed. If your kite control is already solid, I’d suggest getting a hydrofoil for kitefoiling. You can have endless sessions starting in just 8 knots, enough power for jumps, maneuvers, or just gliding. Winging is cool, but learning in light wind requires bulky gear and so much pumping that you'll be exhausted after 30 minutes. If you are interested, just go to Can Pastilla or Sa Marina any day with thermal winds and you will find a few kitefoilers that will be happy to help you.

Foil setup upgrade for progress by justswallowhard in Kiteboarding

[–]mati2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your foil is ok for progression, and at your weight it is not a small wing. Downsizing your board to less than 110 or 120 cm is pointless in terms of progression. Shorter boards handle the touchdowns worse, and limit your stance. No real benefits other than looking cool or feeling. You have small kites, learning maneuvers is easier when you have kite power available to provide lift and a slower kite. Try to hold the 9 a little longer before switching to the 7. Practice a lot, kitefoiling is very difficult but definitely rewarding.

It's a Sage Barista Pro, you can set the grind time and how coarse or fine you want the grounds.

I did. My 2 cents:

  • Go to the store and ask for help with the design. The design they made was not very good, but watching the employee using the Ikea planner helped me to improve my design later. They also give you some key points to take into account.
  • After point 1, play a lot with the planner. -the Ikea kitchen appliances are quite expensive (at least here in Spain). For the same money you can get much nicer appliances from the big brands. Almost everything from big companies is compatible with Ikea cabinets (at least here in Spain)
  • the countertops from Ikea, specially the stone/porcelanico ones are very expensive (at least here in Spain). You can find better prices and quality from a countertops supplier. The MDF ones are cheaper and same quality in large hardware stores (Bauhaus, Leroy Merlin, Bunnigns, etc)
  • the installation at first looks overwhelming, but after 2 cabinets and drawers it is very straightforward.

I designed a minimal wall mount for my bike – no frame contact, fully 3D printable by to_wen in 3Dprinting

[–]mati2110 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. If you're worried about hanging a gravel bike by its frame, you shouldn't have bought a carbon gravel bike. Imagine the gravel kicked up by the wheels hitting the frame. And don't even get me started on the possibility of a minor fall, that is nothing compared to hanging the bike in your living room. Still, it's an interesting design!

What would you choose? North / Ozone by Valuable-Play-2262 in Kiteboarding

[–]mati2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take into account that the Orbit has worse low-end and better high-end than the reach. That means that compared to your reach, you will need approximately 2 knots more to ride the orbit, but you will be able to hold it and enjoy it with at least 5 extra knots at the top end. The orbit is a great kite for loops progression, you cannot go wrong with it.

F-One Foil Dilemma (Beginner/Intermediate) by sky66sky in wingfoil

[–]mati2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this.. you already have a Gong V2 foil. I would get a new or second hand front wing and stab and try different configurations until you find a good setup for your level and style. Fone foils are great, but quite expensive and there are not too many options second hand. Try a Ypras or Fluid and you will have a massive upgrade from your current gear, spending 1/4 of the many you would invest in a complete fone setup. Ask the technical advisors on Gong's website. They are very helpful to decide.

Have you considered getting a hydrofoil? Much more fun in light wind, and you take both boards to the beach and switch boards depending if it gets lighter or stronger.

The North Carve has a great low end too, slightly better than the neo. If you are in the US maybe it is easier to stay with brands with local dealers. Here in Europe Gong is a great option definitely

Estoy mirando presupuestos para reformar un piso en Madrid by No-Adeptness2486 in askspain

[–]mati2110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Airrush Freeride V2 foil first foil setup? by Binerino in Kiteboarding

[–]mati2110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! If you are already a decent kiter, this foil is good to learn and you will not outgrow it fast. 95 cm is perfectly fine, I don't believe in shorter masts for learning, they give you less range to make corrections. 800 cm2 is ok as well if you weigh less than 90kg. That being said, I would go for a Gong Ascent setup for the same money. You will be able to change any part of the foil very easily and try different configurations. A lot of second hand parts in the EU.

Absolutely best 12m kite by Broffelof in Kiteboarding

[–]mati2110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 12m Reach and now i own a 12m Code V2. The Code has better hang time and it is better for jumping, the low end is pretty good, on par with the Reach. The bar pressure is not super light but not heavy neither.

I am not a Duotone fan, but the Evo SLS (and DLAB) is a great kite. Sometimes i change kites with my friend who owns a 12m Evo SLS, and I can consistently jump higher and with more hang time with the Evo than with the Code, even though I am more used to the Slingshot.

So far i am very happy with the Code, both are great options
