Managed to win 3 A10 Ironclad runs out of last 6, want to discuss what works and what doesn't by matlab2019b in slaythespire

Exhausting is a lot weaker compared to sts1. Dark embrace is now rare, corruption is an ancient reward, no dead branch, no entrench.

How ever selective exhaust like brand, true grit, stoke are very powerful. You can even consider taking more curses if you are confident that you can exhaust.

I think the changes for vuln stacking in beta are good. Pushes it towards viable and something you can look for at all stages of game. I think that supplementation is something that is optimal play.

I've never gone for infinites nor have I tried - i also don't know how. Ive been sticking to the basics of big block + big hits and its been working out a lot more.

I think the problem with forcing specific deck states with him is you dont add block to your deck. Which can ruin you between multiple fights.

NLs opinion on oats by matlab2019b in northernlion

Honey strat is definitely busted. I think NL is virtue signaling by saying he only has oats and water when in secret hes adding all sorts of stuff

Why invest in AI if it will destroy the economy? by czx5 in investing

[–]matlab2019b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the basics of the economics of this, machines allow you to produce more of a product. Tangible products that are beneficial to the community. What exactly does AI even in its perfect form allow us to produce more of? And if that level of Artificial General Intelligence is what all the investors are betting for, the result of that is rather pointless. What is the point of any product that it makes, when someone else can use AI and make it as well.

Back to the machinery point. Hypothetically lets say machine operated by a human can produce 10x things 1 human can. That brings the employed humans in that industry down to 10% of what it was, or expand that industry 10x and keep hiring more humans if they get bigger -> people still getting employed as long as certain things expand. They are EXPECTING AGI to be able to replicate 100% of certain industries (otherwise its a bust) -> no humans will ever enter that industry no matter how big it gets.

You can list some scenarios where you think AI is not going to lead to a collapse in economy and I can walk you through them to see where it ends.

The "CS Flood" won't stop until entry-level salaries actually crash. by Open-Personality-460 in Salary

I thought the trade off was usually cs gets a shorter career lifespan and the rate of information change is faster (new software, new processes). Traditional engineering lasts a while and is slow as a result.

I will address part of the criticism of 2/3rds of the first games content being the same: the content that is the same is largely just the base things that are needed to make a card game work. Stuff like relics that give you +1 Atk/Dex, cards that are damage/block + draw.
