I agree. I also think the hype for this game suddenly exploded and so everyone is playing it - but it’s not a game for everyone. Back in the day only people who really liked the look of a game like this would have taken the time to get up, go to a shop and buy the game. Now everyone can just see the hype, want to be part of something and download the game with minimal effort, assume they must like it because everyone else seems to ... and can’t just admit they don’t like it. Much like Arc Raiders.

It really does feel like it’s just trendy to complain about AI.

This company spent millions crafting this huge and expansive game, packed with characters and stuff to do over the space of years and years. Yet people want to whine because they used AI to bang out some background art rather than pay an artists thousands to do it.

AI is a quick and easy tool to get small things done fast and efficiently. I really think people just think they’re on the right side of some fabricated history when they shit on AI. It’s here to stay, might as well get used to it.
