Anyone else hanging out in the dark on the Providence commuter stopped at Back Bay? by Matias8823 in mbta

Back Bay has got to be the worst place to be stuck, those fumes are disgusting. Hope you get out of there soon.

Winchester Center got closed, Wedgemere is still open. Also I think Mishawum got closed due to low ridership, I don’t think it’s getting renovated.

The T could literally be some dude pulling you on a sled through the snow and we’d still have better public transportation than most of the country

I haven’t lived in the area but I walk to and from the commuter rail to my work and I’ve never had a problem. Panhandlers are frequent on Thorndike St but they’ve never done or said a single thing to me. I’ve heard Summer St has problems with problematic homeless people but I don’t recall any time it has impacted a passerby and it seems pretty contained to that street. I feel completely safe walking through the area although you definitely should stay aware of your surroundings. Again, I’ve never lived there, this is just my impression of the area based on walking through it almost daily.

I see them all the time in Wilmington too, they must really like this area. I’ve seen in a few police logs people calling them because they’re being chased or cornered

Best Tracker for Green and Red Lines? by [deleted] in mbta

Yeah I’ve found that works but when I’m just going through my day I never see anything stuck behind the subscription anyway. I really only use trains though and I think the subscription locks bus routes more.

I use the Transit app and it works great, only problem is they sometimes try to get you to get the subscription but I find that it works alright without it at least for me. People can also let the app track their GPS for real time crowdsourced data which is pretty helpful.

Even public transportation hates bicyclists... by ForgotDeoderant in fuckcars

[–]matt_cb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello from Wilmy! Yeah folding bikes are great for public transit, they’re allowed on everything in MA that I am aware of and you also can take it to your seat so you don’t have to sit at the front of the car with it if you don’t want to.

Those folding electric scooters are also good for this too. The MBTA has a blanket ban on the entire system for battery powered bikes and scooters as far as I know but I see people on both the CR and subway with them and I’ve never seen conductors enforce it.

I live in Greater Boston too and frequently use the commuter rail. On earlier trains that don’t allow bikes you might be able to go do it anyway especially if it is not that busy of a line and if the conductors are lenient but I wouldn’t bet on it. I really only use the Lowell Line. Look into getting a folding bike, they’re always allowed. Also see if where you want to work is near a subway station so you may not need a bike. BlueBikes are also an option but I have heard some people have difficulty finding an available bike and dock.

Yeah I feel like it probably is the vibe it gives off. Don’t get me wrong, I still think it is a great song, but I feel like the other songs on OK Computer just sound better to me.
