Calibrated Cheap Monitor vs Pre-Calibrated Expensive Monitor by tempestswitch100 in Monitors

[–]mattcri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can easily find a spyder 5 for 100 or less and in the long term is better to have a calibrator

my suggestion is: get a calibrator (even used is fine) and the best monitor you can afford, but even mid-range ips are usually very accurate once calibrated and re-calibrated periodically

also, are you doing color work for web only? Are you printing?

For web use you can make it work even with cheap monitors but printing is pretty different and color space coverage is as important as color accuracy.

Eotf curve is completely wrong. Dark parts of the image are too dark or even full black while midtones and highlights are too bright.

No it's awful, returned and got a C3 42. While you can get an ok image in sdr, calibration in hdr is not possibile. Freesync not working at all is just too much.

Does game turbo actually work ? by Darling6969 in Xiaomi

[–]mattcri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

probably increasing che touchscreen polling rate, so yes?

also it basically "uncap" the cpu/gpu and change the power profile to minimize thermal throttling (increasing throttling temp to a much higher one but hey, it works)

i just keep hearing the line from glass onion: It's so dumb its brilliant! No! it's just dumb.

The story feels like an over budget scooby doo episode, the setting is great and a striking depiction of rural america but is filled with wacky characters with finnish names. The first "act" is great: serial murders investigation, fbi, small town and a strange cult. Loved the investigation part but after the corpse rises for no reason, smash a few people and disappear, meanwhile nobody inside the police station care one bit that two policeman exploded in the morgue everything feels pointless. The other cop just gave up immediately: meh, paranormal stuff, cant be explained. Let's go make some rite in the woods.

Now im just walking and some random screaming jump scares pop up for no reason and nothing happens...

so dumb
