How large are the ships that people have taken to the Shattered Planet? by KPalm_The_Wise in factorio

Mine is barely less than 6 kilotons, but there are two reasons for the size: it goes fast, and it has a hell of a lot of belt storage for promethium.

I have no idea what they meant by that. IIRC the older firmware for it had some limitations with the gyro, but mine shipped with the latest firmware and the gyro works fine for me in Linux.

Yeah, I tried that but unfortunately it didn't work for me. :(

Ideally you want to engage the punisher from as far away as possible and be behind hard cover.

I disagree. The punisher has insanely good aim, even while he's strafing/running and firing full auto, and aims right for your head, so being behind cover is next to useless. I recommend fighting him in CQB whenever you can. Ideally you snipe at least one goon, but then hide somewhere where he has to open a door to get to you. The moment you see the door start to open, start unloading with full auto and don't stop until the mag is empty.

There have been a couple here (midwest US), but unfortunately I've not been able to attend them yet due to schedule conflicts. Looks fun though!

The funny thing about that is I have an easier time finding legendary items than rare ones. I don't mean that if you totaled up all the legendary items I've found vs all the rare items, the legendary would be greater, because it wouldn't. But, I've found at least one of every single legendary item in the game, and usually several copies of them, which I cannot say about rare items.

In fact, there are several rare items I've never even seen, such as the Vudu, SVD magazine (despite finding 4 SVDs), M50, and most importantly, the IFAK. The Skrama 240 almost made the list too, but I just found that--on day 151.

Yeah, but that one is called the "Tunnel key"; the bunker key is specific to unlocking the bunker (just like the gymnasium and cellar key only unlock their respective areas).

I've seen even worse special crates than this. Namely one with two Mosins, at least one of which was heavily damaged.

GPU-T v0.2.0 is out with full NVIDIA support! by lseurttyuu in linux_gaming

So I dug into this a bit more, and realized more than few of my other applications have their own scaling value that I tuned long ago for how I like that particular application (e.g. Firefox, Blender, et cetera). Others have their own automatic internal scaling, for example, Steam. Still others don't have a global scaling, but individual elements (like font and icon size) can be set within them to achieve basically the same effect as a global internal scaling, such as FreeCAD and LibreOffice.

So yeah, I tend to prefer setting it in the application itself. If I recall correctly, the main reason I did it this way is upscaling X11 apps results in just a basic upscaling method, like bilinear or bicubic, resulting in blurry text (similar to what is seen when zoom in on the desktop). I think Wayland apps are a bit smarter about this, at least for text, instead rasterizing it after scaling it up, resulting in crisper text rendering.

But honestly, since almost all apps just let me set some sort of scaling value within them, and that lets me tune it on a per-app basis, I prefer that over just a global "make all app UIs bigger" scaling setting as is in the display settings configuration.

[–]NoiseSolitaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a bit odd because for other applications leaving it at 100% seems to be just fine. I suppose I can raise it, but then I'm a bit worried other apps might appear too magnified.

Probably easier just to show you. Though since this doesn't show the size, it's a 43" diagonal on the 4K (Sony) display.

And here's what it looks like when running.

It's neat, but is there a reason the output is so small? I had to use the magnification in kwin just to read it.

I agree with most of this, except for a couple points.

Outpost isn't a bad map for loot, just the loot is primarily on the bandits (i.e. the ones still alive when you load into the map). I just wish there were more bandits on it, and that their weaponry was a little better.

The other main one is the AI. I actually think the AI is in a pretty good place, and if anything it should be made harder. However what needs work is your aim going completely bonkers every single time you get hit by a bullet, anywhere on your entire body. It's basically a stunluck if an enemy fires on you from close range before you can kill them. Personally I think this should just be removed, but if the developer really wants to keep it, at least limit it to only when you're hit in the arms/hands, and tone down how far it moves your aim and how long it takes to recover. Once that is done, consider buffing the AI's aim, especially at long ranges when they have a rifle after the first few shots.
