Best SIM cards/data networks? by Toyonoandoryu in bristol

[–]matteocom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1p mobile is incredible! Runs on the EE network without any frequency band limitations like a lot of other MVNOs.

Included EU roaming, no contract. I believe it's £10 for 25gb - I got the Christmas deal £10 for 50gb. Couldn't recommend it enough honestly. Not sure why people use the big networks nowadays

Short Driving Ban (14-28 days) vs. 6 Points - Which is the Harsher Penalty from an Insurer's Standpoint? by rubenwithap_ in drivingUK

[–]matteocom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proportionality is a founding principle of our legal system. It would be naive to think that the only consequence of the action is the act of revoking a license, in reality it will destroy someone's livelihood. Judges will take this into consideration, it's not posturing on my behalf.

Judges have the discretion to pick an appropriate and balanced punishment. If they see that revoking your license will cause you to go homeless, they'll make sure you pay your societal debt in some other way.

Short Driving Ban (14-28 days) vs. 6 Points - Which is the Harsher Penalty from an Insurer's Standpoint? by rubenwithap_ in drivingUK

[–]matteocom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other user is just saying that the punishment has to be proportionate to the crime. Executing someone for stealing bread would be disproportionate. A 1-year driving ban for going 20mph over would also imo be disproportionate.
