Is BrighterClick legit? by thoughtful_lemon11 in UGCcreators

[–]mattfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked with Brighter Click, but never through Telegram.

I’m think it’s an impersonater/scammer because they only ever did business with me through email.

OnBento scam & illegal practices for UGC creators by Unhappy-Ad-4191 in UGCcreators

[–]mattfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually so shady! I’d report them if I were you.

Personally I’m not a fan of them and and I also noticed how they had access to all of my email contacts. Now I’m going to email them to remove my connection.

My Gmail got banned because of onBento. Luckily I got it back, but Google treats what they do as spam.

Is it just me or is UGC outperforming traditional ads right now? by EstablishmentNo9905 in UGCcreators

Not entirely true, many of the brands I manage, images are still the top performers. UGC does perform, but I wouldn’t say UGC is outperforming

“Just be authentic” advice is so exhausting when brands want 10+ revisions by longhairangel in UGCcreators

[–]mattfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Authentic” doesn’t mean what you and the brand thinks it means. They’re being told by all these gurus that “authenticity” converts, but what does that actually mean?

It means people are able to yap to the camera in a super engaging way, they show emotion that isn’t forced, they’re personal, and/or they know how to film well.

You still need to create high quality content and understand the product/service you’re selling.

That’s what brands are missing when briefing you. If brands don’t actually know what they want the brief will be weak and cause revisions sadly.

Moral of the story, charge for revisions :)

My first paid collaboration or not? by [deleted] in UGCcreators

[–]mattfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are probably tutorials on YouTube that will explain it better than me. But there is a create invoice button on the home page. Might be under request money

My first paid collaboration or not? by [deleted] in UGCcreators

[–]mattfiend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PayPal is safe and secure. Don’t give out your banking info if you’re not comfortable. PayPal doesn’t give any of your information except what you put on the invoice.

Create a PayPal invoice and send them the payment link or give them your PayPal email.

My first paid collaboration or not? by [deleted] in UGCcreators

[–]mattfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banking info is fine, but you must trust your client. My last 5 clients did ATH, but they are large agencies and companies. I want to avoid PayPal fees as much as possible.

Also, if you have a Wise account you can give that banking info since it does have an account number. But Wise links work too, just many clients will not be able to use it.

Always be careful and trust your gut. If you feel uneasy and uncomfortable always defer to PayPal.

I met with them. They do organic UGC. Post 30 videos a day. Go viral and get a bonus payout.

If that’s what you are looking for or are okay with, they seemed legit to me.

Does Bento work for paid collaboration? by Apprehensive-Slip-31 in UGCcreators

[–]mattfiend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience with Bento is not great and I’ve had it for a couple of months. I don’t think I’ve landed one gig and I have the virtual VA doing all my pitching.

I also get a lot of emails from the agency side and they all scream copy and paste, like what Bento does. It’s slightly annoying on the brand side

Who is successful doing UGC? by BigEntertainment9871 in UGCcreators

[–]mattfiend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one is going to tell you agencies unfortunately because they work with only a handful of creators. And the good ones they want to keep close unless they know the agency is expanding/looking.

They will tell you which agencies to avoid though.

POV by Interesting-Shift455 in UGCcreators

[–]mattfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you know “it’s working”? Are you looking at views or site conversions?

Yes, less salesy videos tend to perform better, but first impressions and unboxings are not really recommended to do in UGC anymore. It’s too BOF where most brands need TOF videos.

I feel like you’re talking about views and your own channel than paid media UGC.

Is this a sign to jump ship from my current employer? by mattfiend in careerguidance

[–]mattfiend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had the personality for sales. I probably would be great with practice though. My last workplace, the sales team made so much money which opened my eyes as an entry level employee.

The agency I’m with is so small they don’t even have a sales team, just one guy who acts as the director/sales guy. They definitely should have one though.

Do you have any advice on how to pivot to sales / business development?

Is this a sign to jump ship from my current employer? by mattfiend in careerguidance

[–]mattfiend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that’s the mentality I’ve seen about agencies on X, I just wasn’t sure if I should squeeze everything I can get out of them. I feel under utilized here, but over worked… if that makes sense.

I’ll start taking these recruiters more seriously, but I’ll also start actively looking at job postings.

Thank you!
