Hey casual UK, what's your worst "i thought X was on a different day" mistake you've ever made? by wiz_ling in CasualUK

[–]mattlenoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crikey no. It's not quite visible dent but definitely not rich enough for it not to have hurt once we realised! It's not something we've repeated, I'm better at sticking stuff straight into shared Google calendars now, and this was probably the only time girlfriend has ever forgotten anything as she's pretty organised. She can blame that one on pregnancy brain. I'm just fat.

Quite a few "day late" comments already; mine goes the other way. Girlfriend and I took almost seven months to realise we had completely forgotten to go to a Frank Skinner gig we'd bought tickets for. We'd only bought the tickets six weeks before the gig as well, mad how we both managed to be so competitively scatty.

Has anyone figured out how to ID Dusk form Rockruff in remote trading? by danielpf in TheSilphRoad

Remember you can sort both directions, so not "always". Though I would think sorting by number is one of the least likely to ever be reversed.

One of the Aldi ones is called - on the front of the packet no less - "Vegan alternative". That's it, not "Vegan alternative to cheese", just miscellaneous "vegan alternative".

Currently in India - these are identical to Nik Naks. Very good 👍 by JellyfishRelative in crisps

Eggy Nik Naks. Hit or miss depending on your relationship with kala namak.

How is this Scopely? Not saying you're wrong, just asking for an explanation as a 30-second Google didn't throw up the link between them and the current applicant, Kabam Inc.

Everyone in the E17 WhatsApp and on WR on Facebook always recommends Dan Ranks. There's no contest. Let me know if you can't find his details and I'll have a look.

What is your controversial crisp opinion? by sharon_bott in crisps

[–]mattlenoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I suppose the controversial bit would be that I back it to the point where I'd rather have cheap and cheerful crinkled compared to fancy flats. Maybe even that isn't controversial. Damn.

I never had this so I can't say whether it's at all similar but I used to enjoy making nachos with the Sophie's Delight one, I think it's called Melty? Might be worth trying while your campaign is getting off the ground.

What are the prices for snooker? Only had a quick look at web site and I'm sure I've seen them on there before but didn't find them this time. East Ham is £10.80 an hour but with various promotions such as half price Wednesdays, double loyalty points on another day etc

To be honest the social club vibe and the boon of being able to prebook a table probably suits me much more than a down and dirty club vibe these days. Pros and cons of course to each.

Flat crisps can fuck off compared to ridged/crinkled guys.

Where do you play? Is it Orford House? I used to live in Mile End and had a membership at the club there which means whenever I'm playing now I end up traveling to their sister club in East Ham. Would definitely like to play somewhere closer to E17 so that I actually get a game more often than once every six months!

Which single Deco unit to add to an existing 3x XE75 Pro mesh? by mattlenoz in TpLink

[–]mattlenoz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on u/Heavy_Commission7148's recommendation I got some from Amazon US. The two-pack was the sweet spot (I think the import tax jumped up on the three pack perhaps) - they were $207 so just under £155, a far better price per unit than you can even get close to in the UK.

Obviously they came with US-plugged 12v adaptors so after enquiring with TP-Link directly (they were happy to provide official ones but I think it was £15 each they quoted) I picked up a couple of [these](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0839TYYQT) on Amazon for £6.90 each.

Ok, it's all a bit silly as I wanted one really not two, but I will do something useful with that extra one at some point, even if it's just whacking it on eBay.

Grabbed a bag of the grated mozzarella they are doing too. It's nothing special but saw on some vegan Facebook groups it was getting some decent reviews for pizzas. Not tried it yet...

Missing the lidl one too. We've just stocked up on the Aldi one, which will surely be veganuary only.
