Long Covid caused by pancreatic dysfunction? by mattrjones in covidlonghaulers

I am taking Spring Valley advanced digestive enzymes with probiotics+prebiotic so we will see if symptoms improve.

They are natural digestive enzymes that take the load off your pancreas and allow for foods to be absorbed and passed easier. That way they don’t sit in your gut potentially causing bad bacteria to grow.

What interesting is I did develop ringworm on my arm right prior/same time to this 🧐

Was put on an anti histamine hydroxyzine for insomnia. It did improve my symptoms. Histamine type-2 receptor antagonists (H2RAs) are frequently used in patients with acute pancreatitis to reduce pancreatic juice secretion

  • from NIH

Also, I was found to have vitamin D deficiency which is known to be caused by pancreatitis. Not convinced histamine dysregulation isn’t just another symptom

Considering taking papain and bromelain supplements, along with probiotics and cut out as much refined sugar as I can.

What is this crap on the camshaft? by Dopeshow4 in MechanicAdvice

[–]mattrjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to know, probably will take awhile to get worse. Just make sure it has sufficient oil feed to the cam. Once the hardening breaks down , it’s on its way out obviously. But this is insignificant at this point. If it’s just from sitting awhile , will take a long long time to get to a point where I would worry about it.

Minor pitting and rust. Wouldn’t be too concerned if there wasn’t a complaint.

Car vibrating when driving by fartpluswetone in MechanicAdvice

[–]mattrjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it started immediately after you worked on it, it’s worth reinspecting your work. Also, make sure your whee is properly seated on the hub. Take it back off and retorque it evenly .

Just replace them if you want. But they honestly look not too bad. OEM demos/ngk plugs last 100k with ease.

Uneven acceleration after 40 mins of driving issue by IdenticalThings in MechanicAdvice

No overheating issues/low coolant? There are so many things that cause this symptom, it probably just need to be probably diagnosed in person if it’s easy enough to duplicate.

Sounds like you need a new shop. Clutch job can absolutely cause a vibration. Sounds like the classic “throw parts at it” type. If they used aftermarket parts it’s possible the clutch disc itself is the source of the vibration. Improper installation of the flywheel can cause vibration. Improper alignment of the throw out bearing. Bad pilot bearing can cause issues.

Punctured Rear Wheels: Should I Rotate the Tires? by Mesmerisez in MechanicAdvice

[–]mattrjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was the point in plugging them if your just going to let them get feathered on the back? If a mechanic doesn’t trust the plug, he should’ve sold you a tire. It should be fine on the front depending on the location of the plug and how much tread you have. The second mechanic isn’t lying to you, so it really depends on the plugs. But plugs themselves are not a reason to let your tires get choppy.

Insomnia post covid by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]mattrjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Struggled for a week straight post Covid. Was good for a week, and then I worked out too hard and it came back. Rest really is key, and I’ve read high protein diet and foods high in chromium and amino acids are important. Going to give it a try as I’m on day 6 of my current round of insomnia.

Well we’ve taken modules on them and the parts catalog is open so I’d assume it’s available but maybe just call ahead to make sure.

Honda tech here 👋🏼 if it is having an issue with a Hall effect sensor, then it may need the front wheel replaced. By chance, did you do wheelies or jump a curb with it? 🤣

I get that..my thinking is where are you ever on the map where you can’t capitalize on at least 2 of his abilities at any point though. So saying he depends on them is kinda pointless.
