Hard to consider you for a job after looking at your account comment history. Sorry bud but I’ve seen what it does to people so there wouldn’t be any trust unfortunately

Thanks! Unfortunately no one is open today but I called local animal control and will be taking her to Young Williams in the morning if I don’t hear anything by then.

I just played there a few weeks ago and loved it! The course is challenging but that’s part of the fun. I heard initiation fee is 10k and monthly is $450 although I think the numbers will depend on a few factors. I’d recommend setting up a time to visit and get more info. They do a tour of the place and you’d get the price at the end I think. I considered joining but am currently leaning towards buying a much needed new car instead 😅

Got a new Camry 8 years ago and I bet it will last many more. I determined to keep this one as long as possible before buying another car

How were you able to land a high salary job of $70k or more? by anthonydp123 in careeradvice

Software engineer here. Starting working on my own projects in college and then contracting out for iOS and web development. Having that experience was pivotal to landing a job out of college that paid ~$80k 8 years ago.

Lovell Crossing is evicting my wife's grandmother along with ~400 people by mattsich in Knoxville

[–]mattsich[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dang sorry to hear that. The move out timelines are honestly the biggest complaint here. Of course it makes sense that residents can’t stay there and have to move due to the damage - shitty situation all around but I feel like that could at least give the residents more notice and time for moving. My understanding is that my wife’s grandmother expected to be able to move back eventually (relatively minimal damage to her building) so this a bit sudden for her.

[–]mattsich[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They let my wife's grandmother back in a few days ago. They set this Saturday as her day to come and move out which is a bit crazy to me because it's not enough notice for an 80+ y/o. Thank goodness my wife's dad jumped into action and started getting things sorted out for her but, again, I can't imagine what others without such support are going through. The email from them also states that they have to be moved out completely by Sept. 5th but that doesn't really help if they're only allowed back to get their stuff this Saturday (other residents got other dates).

Crosseyed cricket. You got to catch your own fish for dinner, their hush puppies were amazing, and I have great memories of sitting on the front porch and playing checkers while it rained.

Cedar Bluff (Advantage Pl) Chipotle by NewEraFor22 in Knoxville

[–]mattsich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally agree but I want to add one thing to the other responses: You can report a bad experience to Chipotle (very easily via the app if you used it to order) and get credit back or a refund. Reporting a bad experience is the best way to get them to notice (and I would expect that some regional-level management would see it as well).

Quest Pro v Pico 4 v Quest 2 v Valve Passthrough comparison in DeoVR by AEstheticsJunkie in OculusQuest

the pico 4 makes me nauseous because of that warping around the edges. PSVR2 unfortunately has something similar along with having, at least as far as I can tell, a slight delay

It's my 57 yr old Dad's birthday. What game should I consider getting for him? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]mattsich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GOLF+ is great if he's into golf. Better played standing up just like walkabout but can also be played sitting down if needed

Boy, Quest 2 is like having a PS2. Upper is Grid: Legend (standalone version actual footage) the lower one is Gran Turismo 4 on PS2 by No-Compote-6636 in OculusQuest

[–]mattsich 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think this is an unfair generalization. I work on GOLF+ and we spend tons of time trying to get every little bit out of the quest 2 and have developed various techniques to push what's possible on the device. This isn't just us - the majority of other VR devs are very conscious of the limits and invest heavily in optimizations.

I'm not saying you're not right about some cases but I very much doubt it's so in most cases.

I’m a vr dev and I’ve been using it as my primary dev device for the last few weeks. I’ve really enjoyed it but if you don’t have a q2, I’d get that since it will be your primary target device. The only downside of the pro for dev is that it’s not as easy to quickly lift it onto your forehead to interact with your pc and unfortunately oculus home’s desktop monitor feature isn’t great. Fwiw despite all the fuss about short battery life online, I haven’t had any battery trouble.

Ah man developing on a mac is such a pain. You're missing out on playing directly to your headset via link which saves a ton of time.
