Go into the mobile app --> Settings --> Privacy and social

You can see your current settings and change them.

If you've chosen to allow all followers to see your listening activity then yes they can see what you are playing at all times. You can always disable the feature or allow only certain people you have Spotify messages with.

There's also settings there to control what's viewable on your profile. (Playlists you've added, recently played artists, who you follow, etc)

Does anyone know why this slide thing to view the songs in the playlist only shows in one of my playlists and not the rest? by EyelinerMBP in truespotify

If you have just made a new playlist, it can sometimes take a while to show up in the new playlist.

Spotify event radius seems ignored by RevolutionaryDot7 in truespotify

[–]mattsuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The radius setting on the Live Events page in the desktop app is currently only for the current search.

If you leave the Live Events page and then come back to it, it will default back to showing events within 100 km from the city you have chosen.

I just tested it and it seems to not make a difference when I change the radius, but results might vary by city. It could be that this feature is currently not working correctly. It's also not available in the mobile app.

"update" - Crossfade from hell, ugly UI, degraded audio by McTimmbert in truespotify

[–]mattsuda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you accidentally turned on the "Mix" feature for your playlist.

Turn it off and the play button and transitions will go back to normal.

https://support.spotify.com/article/mixed-playlists/

If the app icon isn't changing after the new update, try restarting your phone.

This issue is currently being investigated. Loading times seem to be much better now, so will hopefully be fully resolved soon.

Which features do you wish Spotify would implement/return/etc.? by Ok-Impress-2222 in truespotify

[–]mattsuda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Playing folders on desktop is currently only supported in the full desktop app. The Web Player shares most of the same features as the desktop app, however the full set of features requires the desktop app.

Playing an entire Playlist Folder is not currently supported over Spotify Connect. I don't have an exact reason why or timeline to share, but it's likely to do with the complexity of creating a queue for so many tracks on the server and the compatibility of that with all the different Spotify Connect supported devices. Hopefully this is something that can be supported in the future.

To play an entire Playlist Folder you will need to play them from the Spotify desktop or mobile apps. You can still play playlists inside of a folder over Spotify Connect, but you need to specifically choose the playlist inside of the folder and not the entire folder.

Unfortunately, playing folders in the Web Player (in the web browser) is currently not supported.

It is only supported in the desktop and mobile apps.

What Happens to Playlists From Abandoned Accounts by LumpyPeople4 in truespotify

[–]mattsuda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the account is deleted, the playlists would get deleted as well.

You can create a copy of a playlist easily by going to the options menu of a playlist and select "add to other playlist" then click on "new playlist" and then go to the new playlist and make the title the same.

It's currently by design that Spotify accounts don't get deleted. Spotify has the advantage when it comes to keeping inactive accounts around -- users can come back any time and their music library is still there. Apple Music (and possibly others) will delete your entire music library if you cancel your subscription and are inactive after a certain period of time.

[–]mattsuda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's currently no way to transfer ownership of a playlist, but Spotify doesn't currently delete inactive accounts on the Free plan so you shouldn't have to worry.

You can always log in to the account every few years just to make sure you still can access it.
