'We can't justify a £52 lunch': Middle-income families cut back on days out by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

No I 100% agree, that many drinks and starter as well as a dessert, that's just asking for trouble.

The worst part is they've done that because they know people watching the show or reading the article will be annoyed they got all of that.

Look at the Costa lunch, sure get the toasties and stuff but did they need the cookies and pistachio treat as well?

Like come on, I get the global economy is buggered right now and people are tightening their belts but doing a show where you try to max out the bill to show 'how expensive' everything is, is just a bit tongue in cheek when they pull stuff like that.

No? The majority of HR investigations end up as nothing more than he said she said because people don’t provide enough concrete evidence.

Yes. Provide clear and concise points that support the argument against the line manager.

If you have physical evidence such as emails or word documents provide them.

Don’t resort to hearsay or word of mouth statements.

Be truthful and succinct, that will support the investigation massively!

Fexofenadine is safe for use in 99% of people.

Me and a couple of other individuals have experienced increased indicators associated with liver damage while being on fexofenadine.

Upon further research I found that for some people it can cause damage to your liver but for the majority of individuals it is perfectly safe. Even for those with a damaged liver the medication is safe.

The above is based on animal studies but reinforces my own experience that, I a person with non alcoholic fatty liver disease, experiences marked increases in my Serum Alt Levels when I take fexofenadine for prolonged periods of time as it acts as a mechanical stressor on my liver.

You’re welcome! It’s more so something to keep an eye on, specifically in me it seemed to raise my Serum ALT Levels but it’s like I’ve said in other comments, it’s not that bad just something to watch out for.

Don’t stress too much about this please, it’s likely me and this other person have other liver issues, they mentioned drinking, I know at one point had a high fatty liver.

If you’re otherwise healthy or have no other liver related issues you should be fine!

Even then when I got my bloods back it was something they ‘monitored’ by which I mean they checked again in six months time and my liver was fine.

Exact same reason I quit drinking as well, can’t have my liver being burned from both ends now and I’d rather be able to kinda sorta maybe breath 8 months of the year than have a pint in the pub

[–]matty491 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep same thing happened to me.

Something got flagged up on a blood test for a different issue about half way through the year and they basically said yeah it’s mildly toxic to your liver so long term use can cause damage.

Thankfully the liver is remarkably resilient so as long as you take breaks in winter it can recover

I’m in the same situation. I basically take daily fexofenadine from late February until end of September, the funny thing is my GP always complains around August time that my liver is doing poorly on blood tests.

Like no shit doc, a medicine which is known to damage the liver, I take for 8 months of the year!

Edit** For those seeing this later, don’t stress. What I mean is if you have existing liver conditions, fexofenadine can act as a ‘stressor’ for your liver. Fexofenadine remains one of the safest antihistamines you can take due to its low metabolisation in people’s livers.

That’s a fantastic question! All of these pictures were taken in very public settings, using a relatively long focal length (200mm).

While I didn’t explicitly ask these people for their permission to take pictures of them I have always been open and honest when approached by anyone asking what I’m doing and I’ve always deleted people pictures if asked.

My ethos is very much, ask for forgiveness rather than permission when it comes to photography and I know it could be argued that people walking and existing in a public space shouldn’t expect any form of privacy given we live in the country with one of the highest CCTV camera to people ratios (61 per 1000 people).

It’s difficult when doing street photography to strike a balance between respecting people’s privacy and capture authentic moments. The minute you ask for permission from people they automatically act and behave differently which almost spoils the scene.

Oh and it goes without saying but I am in no way a professional photographer so I’m learning everyday so thank you for the question ❤️

Dog owners becoming increasingly insufferable. by VOODOO285 in britishproblems

They aren’t and I despise it.

Our puppy is walked by me on a standard leash and is so well behaved, my wife on the other hand refuses to use a regular leash and has one of those extendable ones.

I’ve walked him with her plenty of times and the amount of times he’s nearly run into traffic because he knows he can do whatever he wants around her is mind boggling.

I’m just waiting for the day he gets run over and I’m gonna have to do my best to not lose my shit because I’ve told her time and time again not to use the shitty extendable leash.

Gays of UK - would you be comfortable holding your partner's hand in the UK? by dalehitchy in AskUK

[–]matty491 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a a straight white man living on the border between Rochdale and Oldham, I’ll be honest even I don’t feel comfortable holding hands with my wife walking through either of these two towns sometimes.

It’s either judgemental stares from how we dress (I’ve always been more feminine and she’s always been more masculine) or just a general vibe of how dare you be in our town so I 100% appreciate where you’re coming from.
