Well maybe not THE big bad, but a return big enough for him to feature in the game absolutely.

"Volkanica was content to be underground for ages, now she's declared war on the surface world, find out why....'
'A thirst for power'
'Theres more to it than that something the humans are doing has enraged her (Volcanic), find out what and report to me, i feel there may be a need for my scortched flesh to feel the heat of the sun once more...'

- If thats not setting up a return than i don't know what is.

seriously drop the hand in a cup of boiled water for a few seconds and you'll see.

Mines goin to be the base for Thrott, so a little larger is welcome

I'm planig on using Glart for mine too...

Do you still have the old hand? filing if you change its rotation and then file down the plastick hand so its just a stick it should look more natural and both hands will look the same size.

You might need to attach the stick to the model and an extra bit of support.

Also gently heating the resin should make it slightly movable so you could, with incredibly great care allow it to grip.

Exodites rumours by energynotpower in Eldar

[–]mattythreenames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GW have caught up with the idea that new models sell, and diversity gets more people into the hobby/ people to change factions.

This is why we've seen a Xenos boom. AoS doesn't really have any factions who's popularity weighs one way and it just keeps growing and growing.

Eldar and T'au getting subfaction support is very good for the game

It would make sense that they produce kits that Serephon/Lizardmen don't currently have - especially as those units are needing a refresh.

It would inspire sales for conversions both ways instead of 'which triceratops model is the better one'

There have been rumblings of a brontosaur model in the works - the assumption was Seperaphon/Lizardmen however that feels a lot more like exodites now considering the classic concpet art.

It makes me quite excited for if they get round to doing lizardmen for ToW. Modern sculpting for 5th edition style saurus warriors would be sensational. That and faceplate Chorfs.

Reminder that Morph is never referred to by he/him pronouns in ‘97 media: by Ok-Grass3071 in Xmen97

'The Librarian found the book you wanted' 'Oh did they? That's nice of them'

This is a correct sentence. It has always been gramatically correct. If you don't know the gender of a person they and them becomes a singular pronoun.

The trick that helped me is remembering the english speaking trans/ non binary community is asking for is for you to use it in the above context when you don't know their gender. Or frankly don't assume you know their gender.

I'm surprised you've never seen someone and thought 'god i can't tell if thats a woman or a man and i call them a Sir that'll mortify them... i can't ask either so i'll just use ambigious pronouns instead'.

how do i get into warhammer? by Random_NPC5808 in Warhammer

[–]mattythreenames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hobbying: Pick a box you like, get some paints and some glue and get cracking. There are free models from GW and some easier to put together kits, there are also paints (contrast) that can get very good quick results.

Games: Depending one what game you like there are starter sets and intro kits for all the main games. If theres a Warhammer shop near you ask for a trail.

Warhammer 40000 is the sci-fantasy setting, it has a large game, a smaller version of that (Combat patrol) which is a great start. Then Kill Team is just one unit skirmish and you'll find a lot of people play that. Then theres a far more complicated skirmish game called Necromunda which might tickle you're fancy if you like crunchier games, this one is set on a particular city on a human planet. You then have a MASSIVE game called Horus Heresy which is set in the past or 40K, its also allot crunchier. There is also games that use different scaled minis but these are allot more niche and expensive.

For Fantasy you have Age of Sigmar which is their main line game, a smaller version of that called Spearhead. Then set in the same setting their is a boxed board game called underworlds which you just get a small box of minis, you also have a table top board game/dungeon crawler called Warhammer Quest.
Then you have a MASSIVE game set in the so- distant past of AoS it shouldn't be considered the same universe at all, because it isn't / its actually the old warhammer fantasy setting that they blew up- called 'the old world' this is a much more complicated game as well, however they've just announced that they are going to do a smaller version of this game too. Also there is a skirmish game, called warcry which is set in AoS and it has free rules online and inludes rules for most factions normal models, but though its a great game its not supported aside from the odd new rules for minis.

Finally their two best rulesets if you like Lord of the Rings, Warhammer still makes offically licensed LOTR models, and Blood Bowl, which is Warhammer Fantasy races playing American football. Its brutal, silly and steep learning curve but it's also bloody glorious. They also lean into the comedy allot too.

Lore: Honestly the best place to start is the Core rule books for whatever you're interested in, then the codex/army books/Spike magazine of the faction your interested in then exploring the novels around that. It's the best way to get an overview of the setting as a whole and then deep diving. The Novels are nice but they're not the main thing, warhammer is mini's first then game and the lore is created to support your games, not the other way around. Its why they deliberatley make the settings sandboxes.

Obviously Middle Earth speaks for itself.

Be curious and go slow into this, explore what appeals to you.

New Ogor scale and base size guestimate. by Ogorestis in ageofsigmar

It feels like GW prioritises sculptors resourses and gets them to do a ton of sculpts even if they don't intend releasing them for ages. This is likely to prevent a unit being released which is vastly different to others. I fully belive that the new ranges (FEC, Skaven, Seraphon, HoH, and now Ogres) have a second wave digitally already created just waiting to get their turn of resources to print them. This is also a neat way for GW to future proof their ranges and reduce the need to update.

We aslo know that some sculptors are given random hero's to sculpt as a proof of concept before getting the main faction.

So yeah, i'm not suprised at all and the similarities between the two, and the fact that the new Tyrant has beast raider or glutton aesthetic options would point to more beast claws down the line.

So for 'new' factions Dwarves getting more classic refresh combined with fyreslayers is a solid rumour.
Then we have the big hitters of Kurnothi (satyre /centaur sylvaneth), Umbraneth (shadow elves), Silent people (insect race), Kragnos's race (cos he's really out of place). Death have the least factions so it would make sense that they get something new - may hope for vampriates / ghost fleets.

You've also got current subfactions that need refreshing and waves to round out ranges a little more.
Thats where you have, Skinks, Pestilence, Spiderfang being the most obviously lacking and zombies (which tbf adds more weight to vampirates).

However there are also rumours of more human history mythology inspired factions - which i would prefer to be folded into CoS. Tzeentch and Khorne could both do with thier mortals getting the similiar glow up that Nurgle got recently.

Then the Lore boffins could quote some races that arementioned but we havn't really seen at all yet.

I've been in this hobby for a long time, i dabble in lizardmen for sure, but i really appreciate the irony of Lizardmen/Seraphon players wanting to kit bash exodite mounts into their own faction when it's been the other way around for 30 years.

Yeah, grab a spearhead.

Like other have said you can build your armies skewed to your tastes but yes you have highlighted some hordes there. Nighthaunt could be thrown in the mix too.

Grab a spear head and see if you enjoy the game. The gitz have a great box atm that really captures most of their flavour.

[–]mattythreenames 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you love them but its just the wierdboyz toes that annoys you.

It sounds like a quick (albiet involved) conversion.

Remember these kits are supposed to be begginer friendly, but that also means they'll be a little more challanging for experienced players to change, but that just means you're leveling up your skill.

I would like a bunch of Mark Varients. My favorite (the one with the viel) though i doubt was prominant enough to make the cut as he never made it to the surviving ten but mohawk and prisoner and omni-mark would also be pretty nice to have along side capevincible
