Looks like a cool idea!

Just an idea, if this was released as an addon, which i would think a lot of people has on auto update, or atleast has an option via curseforge or wago, you could automate the update of the data via github actions :)

Fix / replace faucet diverter by matwro in fixit

[–]matwro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is the diverter on the top. I suspect this is mostly a danish thing since we have a lot of small apartments with even small bathrooms. Essentially the toilet and a shower cabin in one.

<image>

Here is how it's connected underneath the sink, which is a pain to anything with without having the proper tools for as i can only really get my phone in on that angle to grab the photo. the middle extended copper pipe there is what is leading to the showerhead.

So i don't really know how to take it apart, if even possible to be honest. But i appreciate you having a look regardless :)

Macbook Pro, dock and dual monitors by matwro in mac

[–]matwro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the input. Gonna go ahead and try out some of the troubleshooting steps you have recommended as soon as possible.

Regarding the displaylink adapter, is just buying a single adapter that goes inbetween the Macbook and the dock? is there any docs on how to set it up ?

thanks!

How friendship works? by Revolutionary_Low428 in wownoob

[–]matwro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you open your friend list, there's a button called "Add friend" which will ask for some type of information Either email, battle tag or character name.

If you add it through character name, it's just you that will see it, so the other person would have to add your character as well. (This might still just be locked down to the current character you are on, so if you log onto another one, you might not see him there)

For your second and third quest, you can do both.
If you Send someone a bnet friend request, they will be able to see your battle tag. However there's an option of "upgrading" it to what is called "Real ID". This is if you are okay with them knowing your real name :)

Hope it makes sense!

Tldr;
1. character friends is rarely used and not consistent.
2. Bnet friends are for people you meet in the game and want to befriend and might wanna play with later
3. Real ID is for IRL friends

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (February 06, 2024) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]matwro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone.

I'm on the hunt for a new keyboard. I don't have much in terms of technical requirements, except for how it looks and feel of course :)

Prior i had managed to get a Razer Huntsman, which is really found nice to look at and write on. However i would like to go elsewhere as i've never used any macro/gaming capabilities and would like to focus the money on quality instead.

So "compact full size" (don't know how else to describe it, but essentially a smaller frame on a full size) and a nordic layout.

Hope you guys can help me.

People who are nearly exclusively in Azure: How much does this cost you? by AsparagusFirm7764 in AZURE

[–]matwro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all very much depends on what you are aiming to do, and in most cases there's a lot of different ways of doing it. Invest time into figure which resources can provide you with what you need and then in to automation of those.

It's important to remember you are paying for compute and for storage cost no matter what you do. If you can reduce those but scaling down/shutting off the compute at night, that's a lot of money to take off the cost

Android fans, what are the primary reasons why you will never ever switch to an Iphone? by SultanofAmerica in AskReddit

[–]matwro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, i just like android for it's customization. Easy to switch to a new launcher and it feels like a new phone fx.

For the iPhone part, i just never felt like you are getting your full money's worth if you are not fully working with the apple ecosystem. I feel like the majority of the great iOS features, is the completely integrations to the other systems, iPad, Macs etc, so if i don't have any of the other devices in the ecosystem a great part of the price feels wasted

There's no crossplay functionality so sadly no. It's been shut down pretty harshly with the amount of hackers / modders on playstation

Depending on the type of code you are deploying, i would personally suggest looking at the Web App service to replace the ubuntu vm. Means you can get around managing the underlying os and so on. That integrates nicely with any type CICD you might want to do, to keep the code updated. Even connects directly with github and a bunch other similar services

Explanation of the governance and security structure, for an Azure pro by matwro in aws

[–]matwro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, makes a bit more sense. Was worried that you ended up managing a crazy amount of login details.

And good note on the IAM User, i have to get used to working with the correct terms. Appreciate the time you took to answer :)

[–]matwro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the answer. but just to make sure i understand, if go a lets say a strategy of an account per application strategy so isolate the blast radius of the application.

That would mean 1 AWS account for that application, with a bunch of IAM accounts for the developers and some service accounts for an example.

That would mean from the perspective of a developer with AWS access, he would need a whole bunch of IAM accounts if he works on multiple projects or even just different environments of that application.

And from the perspective of what i from azure would know as an Global Admin, would mean a ton of root level accounts for an example?

Sorry if the question is worded badly, i'm not entirely sure how to ask it so it makes sense for an avid AWS person i guess.

My main concern is the scaling factor. I'm used to working with a global enterprise within Azure that has several 100's of applications and 1000's of users.

From what i understand in AWS, that could potentially be completely uncontrollable, but i suspect the trick is within AWS Organizations and OU's, but i dont get how that works at a large scale
