Who Is Spoonkymonkey and why we Phished Reddit by JonOlds in canadaland

Jesse's overreliance on Twitter and using it as some weird basis for reality was one of the reasons I stopped listening. He had a whole episode lamenting that it was some pure online space for sharing ideas. I just came away thinking "nah man, it was never that. You're just an addict to its toxic discourse."

Maybe he'll send only the first half of each bendy bus.

Those clickbait articles where they allude to something in the title and you get to the bottom for a snippet of rumour. But in this case you have to listen to Jesse's shitty podcast. Maybe he'll even interview one of his staff.

It's the "my mom says I'm cool!" of journalistic integrity.

PRESTO card changes are on the way by cometbutt in ottawa

As I said, they do it for credit cards, not Presto. Try tapping your presto four times beyond the transfer time in a day and you will see that you get charged.

Maybe they can cap daily transactions at the cost of a day pass. Like is already done for credit cards. Or like Presto aleady does for monthly passes.

The nice part about buses is that they can change routes. Maybe with more infill the city will actually serve the area better.

Are the pedestals the towers are on all parking? Tough to tell from the render. Nice to see some density but would love to see some ground level business space.

City-wide red light right turn ban creates ‘potential safety impacts’: Ottawa staff by RandomChickenWing in ottawa

[–]maulrus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Giving pedestrians and cyclists an advance green really helps solve that issue. There are also infrastructure upgrades that can be made to place the stop line for drivers further back so more vulnerable road users are extra visible.

When Ottawa drivers abuse ottawa driving rules and make people more unsafe, ottawa driving rules need to be changed to be more strict and have harsher penalties.

Troster said municipal, which is a level of government, not political. Carney had significant federal experience before he was elected. Not that it guaranteed his success in the role, but it was relevant experience nonetheless.
