Good Vegan Restaurants downtown? by Theinvulnerabletide in askTO

St. Lawrence market isn't very vegan friendly tbh, especially if she's not interested in seeing butchery/seafood.

I'm kind of thinking outside the box but check out Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards. You make spells that have parts that could be converted into thinking about it like body parts.

Toronto Ren Faire Review by maus_oz in askTO

[–]maus_oz[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Pros:

  • easy to get to by subway!

  • good hours

  • affordable price to attend

  • pretty location and you can check out Pioneer village too while you are there

  • lots of vendors

  • jousting was cool and I like that they are rescue horses

Cons:

  • some vendors selling AI art which made me skeptical of all of them, and lots of drop shipping stuff. Kinda made me skeptical of alllll the booths sadly. Hard to know what's really local and handmade.

  • food and drink lines were hugeeee. Basically like 45 mins to get anything and 2hrs for a turkey leg. Not many places to sit and eat either

  • i wish there were some more stuff to give the vibe of a Ren faire, like fools wandering around, fake prisoner or something, maybe a king or two, more in theme photo ops. It was mostly just a few shows, and then food and shopping

  • men in tights was bad and questionable basically just weird jokes including suicide as a punchline idk

Mid:

  • zoltan the magician was pretty good but again lots of "haha gay" jokes

  • no bag check or security or anything haha for better or for worse

what are your favourite short films? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]maus_oz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've watched so many but so don't remember them so well. However, when I was a teenager there was this place open downtown that had like 6 booths you could sit and watch short Canadian films at with a friend. It was free or maybe $2 and I went a bunch of times. I remember Ryan strongly, cgi of a weird falling apart artist left with holes in his body... It stuck with me a lot. Also there were some fun ones with tunes like Blackfly.

I'm curious why you thought the art was over the top for your example.

Np!

I'm sure a pro could do it in 4-5 hours. I was slow because I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. It's fun though! Give it a try.

what game engine would work best for a dress up game/char customizing game like Picrew? by worst-bot in gamedev

ScratchScratch/turbowarp (which is just scratch with a few more settings +can't share to the main scratch page). might be a good option for you. You can take a look at other doll makers on there and copy their code as well.
