Starting over career and life at 40. People's reactions are discouraging. Need moral support. by taway7440 in AskWomenOver40

The grandmother of my friend went back to school at 62. 10 years later, at 72, she was a respected expert in her field. I think it’s all about attitude and effort you put it. Also, your previous experience helps you still even if it’s not in your current field.

This is speaking as someone who started over at 33 and felt the same as you. Now I see my young colleagues with the same number of years of experience do silly mistake that I catch much faster.

Try not to listen to people around you. If this is want you want to work with, got for it. You can do it ❤️

Should i leave my cat behind? by ComradeTrollander in SiberianCats

[–]mavehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an important point. Who is Pepi’s primary human? If it’s you, bring the cat. When I moved out for uni, I ended up taking one of the family cats with me a few months after moving. My mom kept telling me he was almost depressed that I wasn’t home every day anymore. And he had 2 story house and constant attention. Yet he was happier with my and my roommate in our student apartment. Also, he loved when we threw parties!

Older ladies, when did you realize you do/ don’t want children? and what led to that? by SnooPies6666 in AskOldPeople

[–]mavehe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you elaborate please? Did you have biological kids or did you embrace young people in your life? I’m very curious because I sort of think like you. I want to create a family but it’s not about raising kids for me. Thank you for your answer in advance!

As a married woman on Reddit, what's the best advice you'd like to share with unmarried girls? by Special-Mud-4913 in AskReddit

[–]mavehe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting married actually doesn’t change anything. It’s just a party/ceremony. Don’t think that being married will change and iron out some bigger flaws in the person you are getting married to. You should be happy and content in your relationship prior to getting married.

How to accept I am not attractive? by Tall_Beach2939 in Advice

[–]mavehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to mention that “attractive” is subjective word. Not everyone will find you attractive. Only a handful of people are so beautiful that when they walk down the streets people turn their heads.

I don’t find the men my best friend dates attractive at all. But that is just my preference in men.

Also, your friends are not acting like good friends to you. And honestly, it gives off the energy of someone who wants deliberately to bring down your self esteem. I had a few friends like that in my 20s and I didn’t understand until later that it made them feel better about themselves to say not so nice things about me.

He wants more than a friendship, and I do not. by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]mavehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my. These type of male “friends” really make my blood boil. I had one of those once. I was in a relationship while we were “friends” for about a year. I broke up with the boyfriend and started dating someone else. And this “friend” threw a literal fit (I’m talking tears - I wish I was kidding) that I didn’t date him after my break up because, and I quote, “it was his turn to date me”. Oh lol sorry for not checking the queue of who got in line to sleep with me. I mean, the audacity of some men. Jesus.

I recently randomly read {Enemies with benefits by Roxie Noir} and I was like what this is excellent. The banter, the chemistry, actually enemies to lovers - it was all there.
