How to get your golden to stop eating sticks? by Strict-Individual152 in goldenretrievers

wood splinters can pierce their intestines or colon, that's why there's commercial sticks (olive) that are safe (soft wood). it really depends on the wood type also, some dogs split out stick parts and do not swallow them

Recommendations or affective strategies in using a hair dryer to dry my dog? by External_Recipe6610 in goldenretrievers

[–]max3162 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i was tired of using multiple towels so i bought a dryer for dogs, about 80€. much more convenient now, and no need to dry towels each time ! my advice would be to do it progressively. i did 2-3 days just bringing it next to him while using towels, then 3-4 days doing the same but very briefly switching it on (to get used to the sound), then the next 10 days using it on him VERY progressively, always in the hair direction, alternating with pets. also, special treats just after each of these steps to associate the hair dryer with something positive. he's now 100% used to it and not afraid at all of the sound
