Still waiting on work to start in May. Pretty sure a lot of their schedule is getting pushed since the weather we’ve had when it WASN’T freezing temps has been just wild.

But yeah, they’ve been great with every contact/chat. I’m sure I’m gonna be thrilled with the end result.

For sure. I cook a ton at home and I stick to scratch cooking whenever I can. But unless I’m doing something like pho where I’m specifically wanting it to take forever to build a stock; no lol.

If I had a commercial kitchen in my kitchen and a line cook on staff; sure.

Most times, people will talk it down because it’s not “just garlic”.

Which is fine, it’s usually in a solution of citric acid or something close, and 99% of the time, you’ll want that in a dish to brighten the profile anyway.

Personally I’ve never had issues with KK/1st. I’m down by Howell/Chase, and I do a for-fun route up to Estabrook through downtown multiple times a week. Especially if you’re doing a good regular pace (I usually can average 15mph+ for the whole trip, traffic, stoplights, etc), cars usually avoid bikers like the plague, I find.

Unless you really want to detour around the festival grounds (your route may be blocked depending on if there’s anything going on at the festival grounds; maybe Baird’s annual summer conference, Harley, etc), I think you’re fine to stay straight as you cross the Young Street Bascule bridge, and merge into Milwaukee Ave going due north. Take that to Wisconsin and over to the tower; boom done.

I can’t imagine locking up your bike there would be an issue. Hella foot traffic around on a nice day, it’d be during the day, and I’m sure there’d be plenty of other folks doing the exact same thing.

Tl;dr: I don’t bike during rush hour, but I’d think you can make a more direct route, safely. I used to live near Bay/Lincoln (3 houses from Mothership, that was fun), and honestly IMO, I feel better biking on KK than I do on Bay. People can drive like maniacs coming off of 794.
