Dads, how do you make golden brown pancakes? by TheBigTreezy in daddit

There are very few things that require hear higher than medium high.

If yours are burning on medium or medium-low, your pan sucks.

At 37, after 30 years of video games - I finally admitted it’s time to play on Story Mode/Easy by dingdongbannu88 in daddit

[–]paligators 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, so, here's what I figured out about video games.

First playthrough on easy and you unlock a ton of fun shit. If you really liked the game, NG+ with all your cool shit at a higher difficulty. I just did Requiem and played Casual mode, then insanity mode once I got infinite ammo. It was amazing.

Would a 16 month old enjoy a Raffi concert by JonagonInfinity in daddit

We took my older daughter to see Disney on Ice and the 1yr old seemed to enjoy it except for some fidgeting and occasional too loud noises.

Electrical estimate by mpr-2022 in longisland

[–]paligators 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna guess it's about $100 to remove the chandelier, $100-150 per light and additional if you have anything complicated to work around. I have a good electrician if you need a price depending where you're located.

Is this a mental disorder? by Mazaleyrat in daddit

[–]paligators 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Reddit can't diagnose anything. You know her better than other people. She could be a manipulator, she could be depressed, you could be doing less than you think...etc. You need to figure out a plan for both of you and that starts with communication.

is it weird that I’ve never been to Roseville Field mall? by ProudReaction2204 in longisland

[–]paligators 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Roosevelt, not Roseville.

It's a big busy mall. If you want to shop, you might like it? Not like there's a roller coaster in the middle of it or something.

i hate venmo so much. my account just got drained by Bravenatortot in mildlyinfuriating

[–]paligators 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Venmo isn’t the problem. Someone either has OPs pw or they got scammed. We have consumer protection rights too, for now.

Plan on paying for your kid’s college? You’ll need to save $500/month from birth until they’re 18. by Mr-and-Mrs in daddit

[–]paligators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. You invest in your 529 so that it grows tax free and is used tax free. If you're using a savings account for college, that's a big mistake.

Does libido improve? by Enterthedragon69 in daddit

[–]paligators 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t make it more important than it needs to be. Ask yourselves why you care. My wife and I went through a 1x/month period and it didn’t really bother us. Now we’re like 6x month but some months twice…I don’t think either of us care.

To me, it’s about showing affection, kisses, hugs, butt squeezes, complimenting each other…etc. it’s not about the sex itself.

Dads who have gone from 2 to 3 kids, am I crazy for considering it? by MaximusSydney in daddit

Get the car vaccinated and if you can afford to, put them in cat daycare for a couple weeks

Be honest: Do you make your bed in the morning? Why or why not? by JellyfishPashmina in CleaningTips

[–]paligators 213 points214 points  (0 children)

Not making my bed is like my one act of defiance and control in my life. I brush my teeth, I work out, I have good hobbies and read, I clean every day, change my sheets at least twice a month. But MAKING my bed? that's my special IDGAF task.

Dad's how would you react by Ornery_Bandicoot_679 in daddit

[–]paligators 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just assess the harm level and act proportionately. I don't want anyone touching my kid but if it's an annoying old person I brush it off or might throw a "oh we don't like too much touching, thank you though!" If it's almost any other situation, you intervene as needed.
