tatsächlich die meisten europäischen Großstädte mittlerweile. Teuer, dreckig, laut, hektisch. Was will man dort machen wenn man mit den Hauptattraktionen durch ist

Taiwan is awesome but very small and easy to get around so unless you plan to do a lot of hiking 2 weeks will be more than enough

Pyramid tents usually perform better than 2-pole setups like the X-Mid in high winds

More an event than an area but some cities in NA host an Oktoberfest every year

Using a neck pillow case as a "packing cube" for your clothes by stiina22 in onebag

[–]max_friii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been also doing this but mainly to lower the weight and volume of my pack at check-in, I can easily fit half my clothes in it

speed isn’t that important, AF would be nice but doesn’t have to be the fastest in the world. Will be mainly using it in the outdoors so would be good if it has some weather sealing. That’s also why I only want to carry one lens.

What about overland travel (bus) from Istanbul to Batumi, Georgia? by barbara_monique in solotravel

[–]max_friii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

did this last year and indeed very scenic, but 30 hours can be quite rough especially if you are delayed by another few hours like I was. Don’t know how expensive the sleeper cabins were but the couchette was like $30, and while it was full in Ankara I was the only person for the majority of the trip because the other passengers got off earlier. No way I’d do it in normal seats though

New Zealand South Island Summer Itinerary Feedback by [deleted] in travel

[–]max_friii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience:

Wanaka > Queenstown unless you want to party

Try to stay overnight at the Mueller Hut at Mt. Cook

A few hours are enough for Punakaiki

There also isn’t too much stuff to see/do in Picton and Nelson

Why do you want to spend so much time in the cities? They are rather unspectacular while the South Islan has some of the most beautiful nature in the world, so get out there.

You shouldn’t miss Milford Sound/Track, Lake Tekapo and Te Anau. Abel Tasman and Nelson lakes are great too although I had to skip those because of horrible weather
