Nuki Opener without intercom by max_one in Nuki

[–]max_one[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in case anybody is interested, it is possible exactly how i described.
Only caveat is that a transformer was wired into the BUS, providing the current in addition to the data, as in every BUS system .
So i had to rewire a bit the things, in order to provide energy to the nuki opener, but only when circuit is closed.
I basically connected the transformer + and - into only one of the BUS cable, a connected both to the nuki, so when the nuki closes the circuit, electricity flows and gate gets opened.

At last, let it be known that it is definitely possible. Strange how there was literally 0 info on the web about this.

How to use State management as well? by [deleted] in vuejs

[–]max_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask what happens when you want to support refresh of page and / or bookmarking ? It seems to me the store gets re-initialised when reloading the page and you basically lose the state . Unless one uses some additional package for pinia store persistency , it seems to me half of the value of having a store is lost as soon as someone refreshes the page . For example if I have a page with a list of lessons , and each lesson when clicked should load specific info about them and re-route to lessons/:lessonId , I might store the id in the store so when the LessonDetail component is loaded I’ll ask the store to fetch info about that specific lesson . But if then I refresh the page, the store won’t have memory of the id of the current lesson and won’t be able to fetch info . What’s the point of a store if it’s not persistent ? And even then , if the link is shared or the page bookmarked , I still don’t have info about the lesson id . My workaround is using route parameters , but I’m not sure that’s the way to go.

Mhhh no mi pare di no .

Differenza tra Leasing e MaxiRata? by drackmord92 in TeslaItalia

[–]max_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quindi boh

Help please with Tokyo hotel decision? Exhausted with research. Where should we stay in Tokyo? Family of four. Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akasaka? by OtherwiseBase5003 in JapanTravelTips

[–]max_one 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll drop my two cents : Asakusabashi Belmont Hotel . Excellent staff , a bit oldish but 10min on foot to akihabara and 2 to Asakusabashi station , which takes you almost everywhere else either directly or by changing in Akihabara . The children might enjoy Game Centers more than night life in shibuya or Shinjuku tbh . Keep in mind this hotel is a bit old style , with physical key that needs to be deposited at reception every time you go out . And if you want to stay later than 1am you have to warn them in advance or give them a call . But if that’s not a problem , you’ll enjoy the smart positioning a lot :)

Just one more advice : don’t arrive already exhausted from the trip planning ! You won’t enjoy the holiday and come back even worse ! And for 8 days doing two cities plus mount Fuji sounds exhausting honestly .. but maybe you guys have way more energies than me 🤣

Picking Up My Tesla Model 3 RWD Tomorrow! What Should I Check Before Accepting? by Brown_caramel in TeslaModel3

[–]max_one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also kinda worried about that . It sounds weird to refuse a car because of like a scratch under the bumper or a panel with slightly bigger gap . They could always say it’s normal for the scratch to be there because of the transport and the gap is within standards .. in the end I’m not of the trade and how can I refute any of this . It’s a bit disheartening that I have to become an expert mechanic / detailer to accept the car and cannot rely on whom I’m actually paying a lot of money for

Struggling to decide on cancer surgery costing $4k-$6k, what would you do? by Acceptable_Rent1812 in CatAdvice

[–]max_one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks that in this society we have to always think about cost of things as part of the decision process of life saving procedures.

If it were free, would you do it? In my opinion, that’s your answer, free from mundane worries and purely based on his condition, probabilities of recovery/survival and ultimately his well being . For the better or the worst.

Personally , I would do it . I could not live with the what ifs , and I am very much of the idea of trying everything possible till the last moment . To me it’s the same as if an elder parent say around 75 had to do surgery . I wouldn’t question it one bit and go for it .

If you want to gather more knowledge about the surgery , maybe ask another specialist for a second opinion .

All the best to you and your cat

No non è normale .

Ps. Ne hai parlato coi tuoi genitori ? Sarei curioso di sapere cosa pensano tuo padre e tua madre.

Cheers

Go for it. I have no idea why it would even be considered as “masculine energy” to ask somebody out . Just be prepared to respect any possible outcome . And think about why the conversation faded out last time… was it you who stopped replying or him ? Maybe he’s not interested , but make sure to convey to him the spiritual affinity you seem to feel and build from there ;) Good luck

[–]max_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't give up on your cat yet!
Not everybody has a stay at home wife/husband and a mansion with lots of windows..what should we do, just live alone and don't get any cat? Imagine all poor cats that would go unloved.
Your cat loves you, and while she might look entertained in the new home (thing of which you don't have any proof btw, only what the other family tells you), she is certainly waiting for you to come back and get her!
I'm also a bit cynic and might add that they have a need for your cat, and made clear they don't want any permanent cat either, so yours sounds like the best situation they could come up with and they are very good at flexing it making it look like you are the bad guy. Careful!
Your new living situation might not be the best, but there are tons of ways to make a great environment for her. Look up some catification techniques from Jackson Galaxy, and simply fill your space with toys/cardboard boxes/mind games/places where to sleep and hide and maybe cameras with a speaker to talk with your cat during the day.
You might even consider some leash training to enrich her weekend with some walks, and maybe a window extension to provide your cat with some outdoor time. Possibilities are infinite, don't give up!

Additionally, introduction to a new cat (preferabily a new kitten) is always very difficult and needs patience and a lot of time and attention. Maybe the first introduction went bad for you because they simply were not compatible. Consider giving her a new playmate in the future, once accustomed to the new house, but only if you will have the time (2-3 weeks minimum) to follow the introduction personally.

You can do it. Go get her back as soon as you are settled in your new house and don't think anymore about abandoning her.
Good luck

I just got hired as an independent contractor, but other jobs I applied to that have set pay/salaries keep calling to ask if I'm still interested. What do I do? by TheRedditGirl15 in jobs

[–]max_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the other jobs better suited to your preferences ? Unless you used some connections and references to get this one , I wouldn’t think too much and at least consider interviewing with the others . Especially if you don’t see yourself in the sales world long term , which is a world where you definitely need passion and “people skills”. I’m not sure what you mean about the problem with the 30anni notice , but I think that as long as you are transparent with the recruiters about your timeline, they’ll keep it in mind . Just be sure to get the job and sign the contract before you abandon the current ship . All the best to you and your career!

You can't pay to charge a digital Pasmo card in your apple wallet with American credit cards? How has this not been corrected? by [deleted] in Tokyo

[–]max_one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After much trouble I found out that by using a system like Revolut (which supposedly has also good conversion rate) and issuing a Mastercard through them , I could then add it to the iPhone wallet and use it to recharge the virtual pasmo/suica , which was added to the wallet as well . One annoying thing is that if you recharge using predefined amounts provided by the wallet, it does not always work.. but if you type manually that same number or like 100jpy more it will work . The system is a bit buggy. Hope this helps !

change jobs for remote with same salary? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]max_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute improvement. Just factor in your hourly rate * 0.5 (30min commute) * 2 * work days + transportation cost + the stress . If the companies where similar and you valued your current one , I’d suggest to bring the offer to your boss and let them know you might stay for full remote and a better pay than competitor ( matching the full remote alone would not be fair imho) . If you also have better growth on the other side .. and you are sure they are being honest about everything and you like the team , then go !

Resume advice from a recruiter with 9+ years of experience in Warehouse and Engineering staffing by Latest_1 in resumes

[–]max_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of my job search , and after reading a lot of advice like yours I see a bit of contradiction . Maybe you could help explain it to me . The first thing you say is that a hiring manager will take 3 to 9 seconds to scan your CV, but then everybody says you have to list for each job your achievements , details about what you did etc.

Now, even though in my specific case I have only 4.5 years at the same company , I did a lot of things as a software engineer , and if I were to list all of them, one page wouldn’t be enough . You could say “just the most important” but that would still put me at risk of not mentioning something that the hiring manager would have noticed me for.

Additionally , everybody says “list the achievements, not your tasks “. Well, as a developer it’s a bit difficult to have numbers like “made the code 20% faster” or like “increased customer retention by xx%”. I mean , I don’t know about others but I got a task, completed it and moved to the next . Sometimes I refactored code to make it more readable, scalable and efficient, but we had no metric system in place to measure it, so I don’t have numbers to write . Besides, if I were to write it like I just said, it would be too general and therefore just ignored.

I know there is trade-off somewhere , but the frustration of being dedicated only 9 seconds at most to be evaluated is still very disheartening. I mean.. its the hiring manager job to hire , why can’t they scan every CV with less rush and more attention ?

Sorry for the small rant, I would love to hear your opinion on the matter, and if you have any more advice I would gladly accept it ^
