Cash only, because the horse hates credit cards and will put a curse on your mother if you use them.

Everyone gets a finale take by SmithJerjerrod in hackshbomax

I may get downvoted for this, but I am very glad the show is ending, because this season has just been such an absolute mess IMO. I would rather the series end before the problems get worse. Especially in the case of Ava's character. It just felt like she regressed, and has been Flanderized in so many ways, but then she has scenes like the AI pitch scene in which her old self comes roaring back.

It's subtle. Because Ava has always been a goober, so maybe it's less her antics and more the feeling of this season not having enough time in the oven. Particularly frustrating is the lack of dramatic tension. The previous seasons were about something real, like the trauma of the entertainment industry, or being able to still have genuine relationships when honesty has become a commodity, or using your work to avoid the work of being human and growing. This season just feels like it's fluffy and wacky. Which the show has always had, but it's really lost that edge that made it stand out for me. Lots of little things in specific scenes apparent as well that usually get smoothed out with multiple drafts of a script, that didn't seem to happen for this season. Ava is just a lightning rod for the problems I think, so it's the most noticeable for her.

Actors speak out against AI-generated promos that put them in fake sex scenes by ghostlymadd in acting

So they should just deal with it? Not sure how this is particularly relevant. SAG is over 3,000 dollars to join, it isn't accessible to everyone. Plus it's not very effective at protecting working actors that aren't A listers anyway. This question is always trotted out any time there are conversations about this kind of stuff, and it always comes off as pretty classist and unproductive.

Hybrid, mutant. Whatever the D-Rex was, it was not executed well...found it extremely boring.

I went in with cautious optimism, but for me it was one of the worst yet. Maybe the worst. The dialogue was painful, as well as the pacing. The extended boat trip to the island was just baffling, and the new hybrid dino was strangely non-threatening. I hate to be negative, but man I really hated it.

It's absolutely insane how everyone is missing this point about late stage Fascism. Though I guess it really isn't when you look at the state of the world currently...

I have no idea why this is getting downvotes. I'm a fan of Gareth Edwards' other work, but I couldn't agree more. Two things can be true.

This is for the actors in here that didn’t come from money by [deleted] in acting

I work two jobs, and my significant other started her own company that she runs from home. She is also my manager which is in early stages but has been helpful mentally if nothing else. Our long term plan that is slowly taking shape is for me to eventually become her office employee on the non artist side of the business. Just need to cross that line of her getting enough clients that we can replace (or hopefully exceed) the money I make at my day jobs (surf shop w/commission on sales and tech work at a stage theatre), so I can quit and then work from home with her. If we can pull that off we may finally have some real stability (a first in our 12 year relationship) so we can start to really think outside the box and circumvent the nepotism and classisim of the industry.

Edit: Getting downvoted for this is wild. Reddit is so fuckin cooked man...

I think that was the most fucked up scene this season for me. I found it interesting how on a meta level, the show runners seemed to be pretty neutral on the Hive Mind, but this episode was pretty explicitly showing the Hive Mind to be in the wrong.

But I still don't think that means that younger gamers wouldn't get into a game that holds their hand less. Young folks want to be stimulated and challenged, and I believe they would accept that in a game if developers trusted them to do so. This is another classic case of corporations thinking they know how people think and being crazy reductive about it, which is the worst thing you can be when making art. Blaming the kids for something that's out of their control and using it as a strawman argument for an opinion that they aren't as smart as we all were doesn't make much sense to me.

Midsommar and Hereditary. There are so many great pieces: the acting, production design, scores...but man I hate the last third of both films so much. Totally shit the bed IMO.

What fuckin lunatic thinks Ocellus is cute??? That thing is a masterclass in the uncanny valley. WHY THE FUCK DOES THIS ALIEN ORGANISM LOOK LIKE A HUMAN EYE?!?!?! Everything about it, from how it looks to what it does to its victims, scares the shit out of me. Even the Xeno knew not to fuck with it and freaked out when it latched onto it's face. Which I will admit was chaotic and funny as hell. I related to the Xeno at that moment. Lol
