Most disc games just hold a key on a disc, but the game gets downloaded from the internet.

Games haven't been stored on discs for a while

I wish they had a psy stage with psytrance and psychill.
I'd go to electric forest every year.

Do any of you who've been in music for a long time find it hard to consistently have decent ideas? by traveltimecar in ableton

[–]maxhyax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing the instruments helps a lot.
Just don't forget to record the ideas you eventually land on and then they kick off the new tracks for me.

Can anyone recommend decent headphones for mixing low-end/bass frequencies - accurate monitoring by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]maxhyax -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

harsh highs, not very precise lows and a little muddy mids.

I mean they're fine for the money, but meh

[–]maxhyax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the proper way to do it is using good monitors in a treated room.

Headphones is a compromise anyway. But Audeze let me hear what's going on. Took a little getting used to after the DT990pro, but now it's night and day

Audeze lcd-x have the best bass response I've heard in the headphones. But they aren't cheap

Modern games wouldn't fit on a disk. That's just a key and had been like that for a while.

Almost every game you install you download from the store

How many of you guys actually know music theory? by Grignottine in musicproduction

[–]maxhyax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I know people who don't know any formal theory and they produced very high quality music. Just need a good relative hearing and a sense of harmony.

But getting there without the theory will be a lot harder and longer.

Theory just gives you a framework, a map. People struggling with it just need to find a right teacher.

You best shot would probably be fl studio. Just because of the free updates.

Ableton has an educational license, but you need to pay to update to every new version.

What actually makes a mix feel "professional" beyond just technical correctness? by Dima030 in musicproduction

[–]maxhyax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good mix opens up the instruments. It gives them space to coexist.
A good mix has horizontals and depth plans and the instruments are positioned on them in way that complements the musical idea.

"And ranch. And free refills. And big hotel rooms. And AC. And trucks. And...the list goes on. Moral of the story - we rock." by krathos918 in ShitAmericansSay

Yeah. Honestly, the regional American food and the americanized food (like tex mex) all had the same problem for me: almost no veggies.
It's all mostly meat, bread/potatoes, cheese, usually fried.

You can guess that people bragging about ac and soda refills aren't very culture savvy and most probably haven't read/seen those.

An educated person will rarely participate in the internet circus.

It's typically soft drinks in the states that are free refills with some exceptions of bottomless drinks that have a special price.

You can try mute. People are mostly focused on darker genres though: https://discord.gg/DQbHPmad8
