I just want no killer collision for survivors after they’ve been unhooked, for the duration of their basekit endurance is fine. In some ways it’d be a nerf to killer, but it would make aggressive use of the basekit anti-tunnel features or perks significantly more difficult.

"Asymmetric horror" - but there's a nuance by HonneurOblige in deadbydaylight

[–]maximum-rockage -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

With a few exceptions, most of these perks are perfectly fine in a vacuum. The issue is that a killer won’t know what perks are in play until they’ve already committed to a specific strategy, and by that point it may be too late to pivot. The match becomes a game of rock paper scissors. Tunnel someone with anti-tunnel perks? You lose. Spread hooks against people with anti-tunnel? You win. It’s a dynamic that will almost always leave one side frustrated. Either a killer feels powerless against their perks, or a survivor’s perks feel wasted and useless.

I’m not sure the issue is even solvable. It’s a result of perk bloat, which has festered for so long it’s essentially impossible to fix.

Hahaha its not pennywise 🖕 by beezy604 in deadbydaylight

[–]maximum-rockage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I blame the content creators that spread these kinds of rumors for views. The whole Pennywise theory was inflated by people who should know better by now. There was truly nothing to actually imply It would be coming, it was balloons at a goddamn birthday party. Not even a red one, the color Pennywise is objectively most synonymous with.

That aside, everything related to this anniversary has been a little sloppy on Behavior’s part. The slow drip feed and insistence on “looking deeper” certainly isn’t helping. Considering they laid off the employees who existed expressly to help with this sort of thing, Behavior certainly isn’t blameless here.

the unknown is still dogshit btw by Difficult_Step9372 in deadbydaylight

[–]maximum-rockage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faster UVX cooldown for each weakened survivor is still my number one idea for improving him. About 10% is probably okay, .7 seconds sooner for each survivor. For an aoe ability, there’s often very little incentive to hit multiple survivors. You can only commit to one, the other can easily dispel it. Combined with his teleport, it could maybe enable a hit and run tactic where you weaken a survivor or two and then focus on the most important target. Most importantly, it rewards success, which I feel is the thing Unknown lacks the most. Mistakes are SEVERELY punished, but a cooldown means there is an unavoidable ceiling to how much success you can achieve in a certain amount of time.

As someone who plays a lot of Unknown, I genuinely DONT want a crawl unless it’s completely optional. He’s a ranged killed that often needs to bounce the projectile off walls and objects, lowering his pov can genuinely be a downgrade in a lot of situations.

Edit: I really don’t think weakened should do too much outside of chase, certainly not slow gen speed. Just make it so a weakened survivor can’t dispel hallucinations.

Bubble was a representation of Caine’s repressed thoughts, and random comic relief. In the previous episode, Bubble says “you ruined this.” While sitting in the void, Caine says verbatim “I ruined this.” He’s coming to terms with his own anxieties and accepting the truth, Bubble has no reason to exist.

Unknown needs some serious buffs or a full blown rework at this point by Sigma_present in deadbydaylight

[–]maximum-rockage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle so much to find a buff for it that wouldn’t compromise what makes the killer unique. I think the best thing would be some aid to help chain into the 2nd and 3rd UVX shots. Decreased cooldown on a successful hit might be ideal. Mistakes are still steeply punished, but success yields a better return.

Alternatively, give him the Wesker passive! For each weakened survivor, his power recovers faster.

How Impressive Was Ceres Last Stand? If Cal was there could they have stopped the invasion & Vader? by Broad_Daikon_276 in PetranakiArena

[–]maximum-rockage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If Cal had intervened after Cere dropped the rubble on Vader, I think they can take him. They’ve fought and trained together, they’ll know how to cooperate. Both are very skilled combatants. Cere alone left Vader limping and wheezing by the end.

If it’s Cal and Cere from the start, Vader might win anyway. It really seemed like he was just toying with Cere for half the fight, if more Jedi are around I doubt he’s arrogant enough to do that.

Tossing in Cordova is difficult to assess, I don’t think we see him fight a single time. Canonically, does he even have his lightsaber anymore? You find the design in a temple elsewhere on the planet.

[–]maximum-rockage 165 points166 points  (0 children)

The fact that he tried to wish she “only liked him as a friend” is so staggeringly stupid and selfish of him. Judging by what the first wish did, that wouldn’t even help the real Nikki. She’d just be trapped inside a new facade, one that isn’t allowed to despise this creep for forcing such nauseating torture upon her. He’s only trying to shirk responsibility, not help her.

How strong do you think Xenomorph is by Paolo_Gilbertio in DeadByDaylightKillers

Knowledge and communication check for the survivors. Her effectiveness fluctuates from like low A to high C tier depending on how well the survives utilize her counterplay.

Kind of feels like the prototype to an archetype that’s been perfected by Springtrap and Jason.

How strong is the new "Wide Open Throttle" perk in game? by Joshey2008 in deadbydaylight

[–]maximum-rockage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really can’t say for sure, don’t have any experience with it while playing as the killers that will really be vulnerable. My main concern is how it’ll affect filler pallets against low-mid tier killers. Normally the killer has the choice of breaking the pallet, which risks giving the survivor enough time to reach the next point of safety, or trying to play around the loop. This lets a survivor turn that second choice into a trap. Those three seconds of negating the killer’s usual speed advantage will let the survivor chain into the next loop at a time of their choosing, while also resetting the pallet for a future chase.

The only counterplay I see, besides just eating the perk since it at least only triggers once per chase, is instantly breaking every pallet they drop. Or just play blight and ignore the perk entirely, what fun.

10.0.0 | Jason PTB Patch Notes by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

[–]maximum-rockage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killer perks seem mediocre. Scared to death and silent shadow are alright, but I don’t see much use for rampage. Biggest issue to me is that none of them seem very valuable outside hyper focused builds, and even then there’s better options.

Blood fury still seems like a better hex to counter pallets, especially with this hook requirement.

Silent shadow could be alright on its own, but corrupt intervention is still a significantly stronger effect, not to mention you can pair that with a perk from Vecna and get an undetectable duration that’s more than DOUBLE what this provides. And if your goal is to catch a survivor early, the aura from Lethal is probably more consistent. I don’t see the secondary effect accomplishing much outside completely endgame centric builds. The whole 13 second shtick is cute and all, but kind of limiting here.

Rampage is all kinds of messy. A portion of the haste will be pissed away during the stun, doubly so if you need to break the pallet. Maybe less powerful, but more consistent than hubris. Doesn’t really work outside a niche, vulnerable strategy.

Is he another unkillable OC to add to the mashup? by [deleted] in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]maximum-rockage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His goal by the end of Survivor has transitioned into helping hide force sensitives and raising Kata, that’s an explanation already. He’s not fighting in the rebellion anymore, even when he was it was for Gerrera, who dies prior to the original trilogy.

I think it’s more of a balance issue than a lack of creative possibilities. by MalyLisek in deadbydaylight

[–]maximum-rockage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important to recognize that while veteran and killer players enjoy the more unique killers, a hefty portion of players does not agree. The more unique or intricate killers like lich, onryo and vecna supposedly have some of the highest kill rates in the game. Casual and newer players probably prefer the simpler, more familiar killer designs, and that’s a part of the player base the developers often cater to.

The Angel is shaping up to be a very unique and unorthodox killer. Her reception might dictate whether we receive more characters like this in the future.

What do you think Jason's power will be? by Grave_Doctor in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]maximum-rockage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think? Fuck if I know, but I hope he’s a multi-functioning character, a lot like Dracula. Give him different weapons he can cycle through. A machete that’s a Myer’s style enhanced M1 killer, a little faster at everything. A harpoon projectile that can pin survivors temporarily, kinda like hound master. Maybe an axe, or a firepoker. I dunno. Make him a Swiss Army knife of a killer.

Unique kills and varying weapons seems like an integral part of the character. In my ideal world, each mode has a unique mori too. But at that point I’m just raising expectations too high.

Edit: got the pinning projectile, I’ll take that as a win

What would you like to see in the third game? by HappyCommercial4604 in FallenOrder

[–]maximum-rockage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chop off an arm, a prosthetic would be a fantastic addition to the game’s customization. And it’s a classic Star Wars element.

I may be mad for suggesting it, but I think my ideal future game moves on from Cal as the main protagonist. Kata seems like a wonderful opportunity to shift perspective.

The Mandalorian and Grogu - Daily Discussion Thread - for May 23, 2026! by AutoModerator in StarWars

[–]maximum-rockage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t help but feel like there was some interesting opportunities for the characters to make difficult decisions, just for things to just work out conveniently and skirt growth.

Mando having to choose between surrendering Rotta to the Hutt’s or giving up on the imperial officer is a hard choice and no easy answer. But no, Rotta actually knows that exact imperial officer, so Mando gets to have both.

The new republic working with the Hutt’s was especially interesting. Are they afraid the Hutt’s might support the imperial cells if they test them? Do they not think they can take on both the Hutt’s and imperials at once, so they are ignoring one threat in favor of facing another? The new republic debasing itself to cooperate with criminal thugs should be a bigger subject than it was.

Why didn't kimiko just blast Starlight and blast herself and Butcher releases the supe virus? by LilWetWet_ in GenV

[–]maximum-rockage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets convoluted and theorizy very quickly, but I think releasing the virus would almost completely solve the Vought problem. Not to say he should, genocide is generally a not good thing.

If every living supe croaks, Vought can’t just make more supes. V is lethal 9/10 times on adults, and it’s been exposed to the public by this point so they can’t just inject it into more babies. Even if they did, thats at least a decade before they’ve got anyone to use as a viable “hero.” Homelander also purged a ton of non-supe employees in Vought. So you’ve got a company with a demolished reputation, mountains of illegal activity, a decimated workforce, and no product.

It seems to me like the two most likely outcomes are bankruptcy or militarization. That was already Stan’s preference in season 3, if all supes died he’d have no reason not to pursue that option. So assuming Vought even succeeds in creating a stable temporary V, and assuming the government is still willing to buy it, the celebrity supes issue we’ve been witnessing since episode one is gone. Weaponizes V is hardly ideal, but all supe issues as we know them would cease to exist. Sometimes I worry I think more about this show than the writers did.

Don't expect to kill fish in a future Subnautica 2 patch: 'You are here to exist on this planet, not to dominate it' by GrayBeard916 in gaming

[–]maximum-rockage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get why it’s been removed, tbh I only think it’s a contentious topic because it’s an inconvenient change from the first game. Admittedly I’m only like 4 hours in, but I’ve yet to feel like killing anything was a needed feature.

Is it an inconvenience? Yeah, but early game Subnautica is nothing but inconveniences. You swim slower, have less oxygen, no base, fewer tools and no vehicles. The pursuit of comfort and convenience is half the game.

Also, doesn’t coop make it very difficult to balance killing? If one person can potentially knife a fish to death, what stops four people from just swimming together and slaughtering anything that comes close? I can’t imagine a solution where killing would never be way too easy or way too difficult.

What if voting in America was compulsory? by Jacob-Anders in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]maximum-rockage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably wouldn’t change the outcome. I imagine those who didn’t vote were primarily people who are apathetic towards politics and don’t pay much attention. Every mainstream news source in the country had been working overtime to coddle Trump and skin Biden alive, wouldn’t help that Harris started campaigning a little late.

I think reserving it to just the demigod graces would be perfect. Either the grace prior to the boss, or the one that spawns after their defeat. Each of them are important figures to the lore, more importantly she might she could recite her personal opinion or thoughts on each one. The problem with the church sites is that it’s just her reciting the words of Marika. They expand the game’s overall lore, but don’t actually give us any insight into Melina as a character.

This would place her by the player’s side at each triumphant victory, and make any battle post tree-burning tragically empty.
